Bupe Adjustment from going back to full agonists from bupe (not about the blocking effect)

So this is something I feel I have experienced now a few times and am starting to believe there is something to it. When you are going from bupe back to a DOC, of course there is the blocking effect, but that is shouldn't be a factor after a couple days, especially a person like me on low dose bupe (appx 2 mg/day). But I almost feel like there is readjustment period that takes about a week when switching over from bupe to using a full agonist regularly. In the case where you have been on the bupe for months and your brain and body are dependent on it. Then you start using a short acting, full agonist and it seems like you are maybe needing another dose sooner and not getting as satisfying a high....but then after a week or your body adjusts to no longer needing the long acting bupe and just the short acting opiate. I assume its because the bupe works differently in exactly how it stumulates the opiate receptors and being long acting the body is more used to that steady level of stimulation than the up/downs of a short acting opiate.

This is basically what has happened to me, I switched back over about 2 weeks ago(after about 3 months of just bupe, mostly 2 mg a day) to using H daily and for the first 10ish days I was feeling like I just couldn't get a decent high (would use and still have normal sized pupils) and was needing to redose more often. But after those 10 days I am starting to feel better(and that is around how long I would expect the brunt of a bupe w/d to last for me), like I expect to feel on dope. I though it was he quality of the dope, but a friend says he didn't notice any change and the dealer seems to think the quality has been consistent over this time period (he does it and I trust his opinion). Now this is also not the first time I think I have experienced this. Obviously I have gone from a relatively long period on bupe back to either oxy/h a few times, and I feel this has happened in those times, too.

This kind of goes along with my belief of how switching from heroin to suboxone is harder than switching from oxycodone, because the intricacies of how the receptors are being activated by bupe is more similar to that of oxy than H (for instance....how people call oxy and bupe a speedier high, while dope is more mellow). This is of course considering doses to be equivalent.

Any input would be appreciated, or just tell me I'm an idiot and no this isn't a possibility, won't change my mind anyway.

It most likely has to do with the length of use. It only takes a couple days for the bupe to be out of your system if you haven't been taking it that long, but even at small doses, if you've been taking it for months, you have a large build up of it in your system, as because of the long half life the doses stack up on top of each other. So It will take a lot longer for all of it to clear out of your system when you've been taking it for months and years. So, that's probably why when you go back to using your DOC after a long bout on suboxone, you notice that period of it not effecting you as much because you still have bupe in your system, where as if you'd only been on the bupe for a couple weeks, there aren't as many doses stacked on top of each other, therefore it leaves your system quicker and you can feel the full effects of an opiate in just a few days.
