Addiction is commonly defined as habitual behavior that may be harmful. There are many types of addictions that may or may not be classified, however the stigma sticks to only alcohol, drugs, and gambling. I want to make a documentary on the broad spectrum of addiction in an over all sense. Any and all feedback, links, and and any other material would be greatly appreciated.

i've gone sober for a few months - if your neural pathways have been messed in such a way, going sober just transfers to another thing. addiction to exercise, addiction to television, meditation. too tired to think of a proper link right now. this is so basic but there is an amazing south park episode on addiction. also national geographic has a good article from relatively recent history..

Hey Abby,
I'm not sure what the best place for this thread is, so i'm going to move it to New Member Introductions, in the hope that you'll get some more responses.

We live in a culture where everyone is addicted to buying/acquiring/guarding stuff. Like you say, exact same neural pathways: craving, anticipation, reward, comedown and repeat. And you could certainly make an argument for the destructiveness of the consumer-addiction being perhaps the worst overall for society, the planet, and certainly for squandering our human potential. Makes drugs look downright benign.

Good luck with your project.
