Adderall XR vs Dexamphetamine

In terms of the high, which is better?

The Adderall XR is far cheaper. I assume the time-release feature is by-passed simply by crushing up the pill, right?
 
Dexedrine... keep that nasty levo-isomer out of it if you can...

Dexedrine is just dextroamphetamine sulphate

with adderall you are getting Dexamp 66% or so 75% by molecular weight but you're also getting the rest of that percentage as levoamphetamine which has more peripheral nervous system effects... more physical, jitter, nasty feeling, whereas dexamphetamine is the one that will give you the "high".

First time I took dexedrine ER I took 5 15mg caps and I was fucked soooo good. But those are days in the past now I'm stuck with crummy Vyvanse and it makes me feel shitty, I can't handle it but I get it for free from my doc so I have no other option.

But to answer your question Dexedrine is far better, and it shows more especially on day 2-3 of a binge.

Dopamine feels good but too much epinephrine makes you fuckin nasty.

And the dexamphetamine should be by far cheaper it was for me when I was precribed on both on and off over the years. Once I got to dex tho... the real thing (I didn't have the awesome IR tabs tho) it was like no looking back unless I had no more and I needed a substitute. And don't crush the beads... just pop that shit. To each his own I guess....

I don't know how you take it but I went for maximum all the time... no sleep just constant awesomeness... After 4 days I started to go a little schizo... the shadow people outside my window weren't very fun haha.
 
Just because Dexedrine is pure dextroamphetamine doesn't necessarily make it the better drug. Some people get higher from the mix of amphetamine salts for some reason, although this is generally not the majority. I am one who prefers Adderall but to your question, I prefer Dexedrine over Adderall XR. I don't particularly prefer the sustained release variations over instant release. Also, the dextroamphetamine would be much cheaper than the Adderall XR.
 
Well, I have two different opinions. I've tried Dexedrine before, but I've never tried any form of Adderall, so I suppose I'll give it a go.

By the way, K'doubt-in-AZ, weren't you a bluelighter back when I visited this forum in '04 and '05? (I've been out of the loop, so to speak, for about 4 years.) Anyhow, if you are the same guy, it's good to see you back here posting your knowledge on pharmacology. :)
 
I prefer pure dextroamphetamine to racemic amphetamine. I find that most of the unpleasant side effects come from the levoamphetamine, although in a way it does make it slightly more intense. But still, speed is hardly euphoric or all that intense, so I'd definitely go for the dexamp.

That said, drugs work differently for different people, and if you haven't tried Adderall you might wanna give it a shot.

I beg to differ try a monster amount and tell me its not intense.
 
Yup I prefer Adderall XR. I have CorePharma IRs and they suck. I have Barr Dexedrine ERs and they suck. If you were to take either everyday, I would say go for the Dexedrine since it interferes with life a lot less. I can eat, sleep (even right after taking it), and feel like myself comfortably on Dexedrine. The levo-amphetamine is what keeps me up, what makes me work, and what motivates me. It is a LOT more fun in my opinion because you feel like acting on your desires, not just sit down and chill with the euphoria. I just ate on Adderall and it feels nauseous because Adderall is just a rebranded diet pill. I want to get XR again, but I think I will try the Sandoz brand and see if that is any good.

So to answer your question: long term: Dexedrine. Short term: Adderall.

If you just wanna have fun Adderall will make you happy and stimulated, while Dexedrine feels a lot smoother and non interfering.
 
Dexedrine is better. However, Adderall & Dexedrine are pretty damn similar.

... Dexedrine Immediate Release & Adderall XR, however, are quite different. & considering the XR nature of the Adderall, I'd say you'd most likely find it worth your while to pay the extra money for Dexedrine. I mean, you can turn Adderall XR into Adderall Immediate Release, but you have to grind up all those tiny little beads in the capsules into powder, which is a total bitch to do & pretty time consuming.
 
dexies feel better unless you go overboard then it all feels the same. you will feel cracked out and get other unpleasant side effects if you roll the dice with your doses too many times at least in my experience (legal scripts)
 
i prefer adderall, i was RXed dexedrine and adderall once upon a time. i like the adderall, it makes me more euphoric, more energy...and the unpleaseant side effects i dont get when taking adderall in low doses, i used to take 90mg a crack, now i just take 30-40mg adderall....dexedrine had minimum euphoria for me and not the speedy feeling i like to have

Yes I am. I had to start a new account and change my user name because I forgot the password and my original E-Mail address. LOL. I had just got out of jail for a DUI with drug possession. I decided I wanted to start talking to all the good people on here again but probably due to drug use I just forgot everything. My screen name isn't much different but my # of posts that's listed is much lower.
