Adderall vs Dexedrine

Idk, they are both useful, I have a ton of thoughts on this lol. Straight dex was the first stimulant I ever really fell in love with, and so I found the Adderall mix to be lackluster for a long time, so always would prefer dexedrine. But, after taking them and every other stim in the world for many many years, I've become more fond of mixed salts.

I think dex possesses a bit more cognitive euphoria or enhancement, while Adderall feels a bit more physically motivating, and so is more useful for physical work or activities. I find dex to be more useful for mental activities like writing or reading, or any kind of general recreation like hiking or a social day out on the town. I think there's more potential for me to get sidetracked with dex though and go into random distracting spirals. That could be down to personal chemistry though.

I can't remember which, you'd have to look it up, but I think one effects norepinephrine more strongly and the other effects dopamine. Mixed has more potential for jitters and anxiety though I think. I also think, the difference between XR & IR is more drastic with dexedrine, I'm really not super fond of Dexedrine XR, but I don't mind Vyvanse really.

People say Adderall gives you more of a physical kick but elvanse and Dex already make me go WHOOSH so I don't see how much more of a kick you need. And the extra norepinephrine probably makes it more jittery at higher doses.

I think Adderall probably only exists for the patent. It isn't prescribed at all where I live.

I was prescribed Dexedrine for years. Doc changed it to Adderall without giving me any reason a couple of months ago. I didn't say anything because I am not actually complaining. Lol

Adderall probably costs more. Maybe they want to give you the most expensive one your insurance will cover?

Probably the same reason we don't have adderall in the UK. Most people get their prescriptions through the NHS which tends to favour the cheapest option available.

I actually have a card that allows me to buy brand name at generic pricing
