Google has been of no help to me on some things I experience while on Adderall. Believe me, I've spent whole nights speeding looking them up.
So, I'm prescribed 15mg of IR three times a day. For 2 months I was a good girl, doctor's orders. There was no speeding or euphoria, just a kind of slightly pleasant/slightly uncomfortable chill where I felt kind of disconnected with the world. My personality is kind of big normally, but my prescribed amount of Adderall turned me into a kind of emotionless, quiet girl who stared a lot, isolated, and read anything she could get her hands on. I remember a brief obsession with tracing comic books, exacting the colors with colored pencils, and not stopping until they were perfect. But no fun cleaning binges, no witty, loud and deep convos with friends, etc. There also was an uncomfortable "wearing off feeling" around 8pm, after my 5pm dose. I always slept at least 8 hrs, thanks to the Seroquel. My appetite sucked, I dreaded meals, food felt so hard and slow to digest.
Ok, a week ago I started abusing it and haven't stopped. I haven't kept track of how many mgs I've taken each day.. I always start out with 30mg in the morning, and just pop a 15mg when things start to slow down a bit, maybe every couple of hours or so. Every day this week I definitely increased my max dosage. I've only really gotten one good night's sleep so far, thanks to the Seroquel and the Trazadone. It's like I dread sleep, I just want to pop a couple more and obsessively listen to music, make playlists for anyone who will listen, clean and organize for hours, find crazy elaborate recipes and cook a ton of food I'll never eat, etc.
But there are all these new uncomfortable and strange happenings that started when too. I can't tell if they are real, or if I just think they are real when I'm tweaking out.
1) I swear, my body fills up with gas to the point that it's hard for me to breathe. My stomach gets all bloated-looking. Lots of burping and not being able to pass gas or go to the bathroom. I know, charming. Just keepin' it real, friends.
2) My muscles get so tight that I have to constantly stretch and crack my joints to get any relief. The muscles around my skull tighten and my hair seems to get all crazy looking.
3) Along with the usual sweating comes this weird oily, waxy feeling of my skin - especially my hands.
4) My nose feels dry, blowing it completely unproductive, and my sense of smell is barely there.
The only thing that keeps me from thinking all of these are just me tweaking out is that around 5 years ago I was very addicted to addy, concerta and Ritalin and these things were all present then too.
Has anyone else heard of/have an explanation for any of this?
And I'm curious as to weird side effects y'all experience that you don't really want to talk about normally for fear of sounding insane.
Thanks.
