Hey,

I have been taking adderall for about 2 years now. I love the drug and it is a life saver as far as my career goes, however it seems to be wearing off rather quickly.

I started the first year taking Instant Release 10mgs twice daily and it was awesome. At most I would pop an extra one for a total of 30mg IR per day.

Two years later I find my average dose to be between 50-60mgs just to feel a little similar to the first year. My work load has increased, so I don't know if that affects it.
My average day is: IR 20mg morning, IR 20mg early afternoon, IR 10mg after work.
Total: 50mg IR

OR

My average day is: IR 20mg morning, IR 20mg early afternoon, IR 20mg after work.
Total 60mg IR

I'm young, and obviously dependent on this drug which I don't care about because I'm competitive and it lets me one up my competition, however for safety reasons and out of curiosity how many MG's of IR can one take Safely in a day?

I talked to my psych about this, but he really doesn't like talking much, he just likes writing scripts :/.

Thanks!
MJ

You can try lowering tolerance by using NMDA antagonists like magnesium. Amphetamine tolerance is a bitch though. Perhaps switching to methylphenidate/dexedrine might help you out. Modafinil would be even better, though it's not quite as strong as adderall.

you shouldn't be going much above 60mg a day. you'll get minimal benefit and a lot more negative effects.

hmm magnesium is interesting. When I work out a lot I take a magnesium powder after and ironically notice that on those days my dose is normally below 40mgs.

why is mag an antagonists?

thanks!
