Stimulants Adderall Tolerance issues overblown?

I've been taking this medication for 10 years, sometimes a year or so break.

You don't know what protein is obviously, protein is broken down into amino acids, which restore function in the brain and body.

They break down to tyrosine etc which are precursors to dopamine, norephinephrine and my other amino acids.

I'm not here to argue with you I've been taking these long enough to know how they work for the person with true ADD, and how to use them most efficiently.

You said

"Protein supplement" I named a popular protein supplement, whey protein. I know what protein is. You seem to not understand that protein or not, amphetamines, or methylphenidate based add meds are neurotoxic. The damage done to existing dopamine receptors, look that up. You could swim in a pool of protein and it would not go away. It is either permanent, or requires time based on your dosage and amount of time taking the drug to heal.

I don't want to argue either, i've been taking them for 4 years. This is all you have to understand, when you say "No they do not" that means NO ONE should experience a need to increase dosage to continue the same dopamine release. Notice you took breaks, why? Is it because you were being depleted and the dosage had been working less? You may have had to take more?
When you say "Yes it can do that in certain people" that means, okay, some people require a dose increase, some do not.

That is why you take antioxidants, so you reduce the oxidation of dopamine, which is what is neurotoxic

I used to take methylphenidate and amphetamine all day every day for years and years, and for days straight for about 9 months. in the past year I've cut back a lot, and my sensitivity has gone way up. usually 20mg adderall is way too much - makes me jittery and gives me an awful crash.I think it's because I was so addicted to it for a while, I have bad associations. or my tolerance went down through long-term "tapering".

Antioxidants that treat 100% of the neurotoxicity? That is funny.

oh and the poster above me seems to have had some problems with tolerance,

Yup.... :|

I've been on it for half a year.

that's it? yeah, at 6 months i was doing great! i've been taking adderall 8 years now. you're still in the "oh adderall is wonderful" stage. i remember that, it was fun. but as for tolerance.... there have been times when 80mg didn't even give me the energy to get out of bed.

edited to add that i am not speaking of therapeutic use. and no i'm not one of those blubbering "adderall is the best thing EVER" noobs. been around the block when it comes to addies.
