Adderall/Ritalin to prevent sub wd's

So I've read a lot of story's that it can and can't be helpful to take Addie's or Ritalin to not feel opiate wds. I been on suboxone for about 3 years and have tried to taper down to nothing and once I get down to about 1mg it seems impossible to get off from there. I came across some Addie's and Ritalin and am now on day 2 of no sub at all and only been on 5mg of Ritalin each day. Just lookin for any insight to this path and experiences that anyone else has had with this process. And help would be great as the subs seem like they are harder to get off than when I was blowing 10-15 roxi 30s a day. Thanks in advance

I would think stims would add to the wd bad feelings.

Just a question, you had a bad drug problem, and now are only using 1 mg sub/day. Why go off it? I would personally stay on the sub to prevent an oxi relapse.

Even if you are buying them on the street, an 8 mg strip is obviously lasting a week, so it's not like its unaffordable.

Just my opinion.

All I can think of is double diarrhea and mad shakes. It might make you feel better with energy and well-being if you can manage to eat properly before taking it but that is an odd way to fight withdrawal.

I dont think it works that way man. Especially when you are coming down off adderall or ritalin. Some people get real bad anxiety and when yer withdrawing from subs you dont want that extra crap to deal with. Most people will say to take xanax. Ime thats what has helped me the most when i didnt have anything. Ambien is another good drug to use for sleep to help with the insomnia. Uppers are a bad combo.

Also just to add to the list, alcohol will help, neurontin and soma will too. But dont swap addictions from opiates to benzos. Thats another hell hole ya dont wanna deal with.

But as others have said, at 1mg a day you are way better off than most opiate addicts so even cold turkey shouldnt be too hard if you can pull through. Good luck man!

I have used adderall and ritalin when I was withdrawing from heroin and it felt great honestly. The high gives you a little escape from the wd's, kinda nice when you feel like shit. But on the comedown you will feel even shittier, I had a lot of anxiety. It can help, but there are consequences.

No.

Do NOT take any sort of stimulant (including things like Pseduoephedrine and Propylhexedrine) when you're going through withdrawals. Seriously, don't. Taking any sort of stimulant (including the adrenergic agonists like Albuterol or Oxymetazoline) just makes you 10 times sicker than you already were. Trust me, I've done it. It's awful.

Specifically, I have a thread that I wrote on here a couple years ago now giving a trip report of what it was like to be sick with the stomach flu and take Adderall. I honestly thought I was going to die. In fact... I remember having a fever of 106. I probably should have checked myself into a hospital...

It has masked a majority of my opiate withdrawal symptoms when I would take adderall. When I was on methadone, I switched to suboxone, was down to 20mg daily. Eating the pills on top of it and mscontin. I stopped methadone 48hrs before I went to sub doc, morphine 24hrs..anyhow I went into the most horrible precip WD for 6 hrs made me stay in his bed in back of office. Was floppin like a fish for 4 days..month later I'm still weak as fuck, so I took adds, all my opiate WD symptoms went away. Other times it just made the withdrawal and anxiety worse...depends I guess

these Uppers won't prevent WD, Just mask it. Opiate WD increases your blood pressure as I it is, taking stims will onlyl do the same and put more hypertension to ur body and may be unpleasant...
