adderall n MDMA

hi kids...i take adderall on a daily basis for ad/hd...im aware of the dopamine uptake toxicity issue after your roll....so my question is....what effect would adderall have on the recovery...if taken days after the roll...obviously i wouldnt take it right after my roll...or even the day after, cuz of the dopamine issue etc....but i have always continued to take it as normal a few days afterwards....what effects might this have/ if any.....sorry if im not being clear enough....took 4 pillz this weekend ;) ...you kids get it

-i take my 5htp and vitamins too....so im guessin it doesnt do any harm???

its obviously not a good situation, but no one really knows the extent to which you are damaging yourself. But considering that amphetamine is more neurotoxic than MDMA (if you can believe that) I would say you are beyond the point of really caring. In your case an SSRI may be helpfull, but that is still questionable as to how much damage it prevents, if any.

I'm not so sure about this advice. Firstly, I don't believe there are major neurotoxicity issues involved in taking your prescribed (aka what the doctor says you should taking each day) of adderall, at least compared to MDMA. I know ALOT of people who take 30mgs Adderall prescribed, every single day, and function on a normal level, and some of them having been doing it for years. Now, can the same be said about someone who has taken MDMA every day for years? No, they'd be fucking E-TARTED, probably a shell of a person.

Now, back to the original poster, what dangers are there in taking Addys close to Ecstasy? The truth is relatively unknown. While it used to be thought that serotonin would flood the dopamine receptors and result in further damage, that data is a bit dated and it is now believed that most neurotoxicity results from elevated body temperature. Although MDMA dosen't have a large effect on dopamine, and Adderall doesn't have a large effect on serotonin, I still would suggest you maybe not take your Addys for a week before you roll and then wait another week before you start taking them again. Give your brain chemicals a little time to recover and your body a little time to rest as well. And after the roll just make you get some sleep, anti-oxidants, and food in you. Have fun =D

riiight...i believe the effects of not taking a medication you need are FAR worse than those of the medication itself....i mean i looked at the other adderall posts...and im thinkin...ok so you stopped taking your adderall which helps with impulse control...etc....because you believe the long term effects werent worth it etc...and now your hittin bumps of meth and shooting up heroin...c'mon......you cant be serious when you advise someone that taking their prescribed med for a mental disorder is worse then taking ecstasy or shooting up benadryl or whatever....amphetamines have been used since when....1920??somethin like that....and have saved countless lives just like the anti-depressants have/can....some of you believe that the ssri's are terrible blah blah blah...but they can save a life...if the person really needs them....id just think twice about telling someone that their prescribed med is doing them heavy damage.....people are different.....but thanx for the info on the neurotoxicity issue....just some thoughts

I'm shocked that this is considered such a bad combination. I thought speed and ecstasy went hand in hand, like blowjobs and club bathrooms, or GHB and pretty people's drinks. =D

Since there's so few replies to this thread, I'm wondering if this is just a few extra-cautious opinions? If I'm going to take MDMA on a weekend, is it really necessary to buffer it with a week's hiatus from prescription Adderall? Will combining them on the same day really be the death (more so) of my healthy dopamine/serotonin circuits?

It may not be the death of you but it could make your comedown and crash a million times worse. Also, there are some people who think that there is synergy between speed and mdma and there are others who think that speed kills any roll. It's completely subjective.

Personally, the last time I did adderall I got extremely emotional and couldn't stop crying. I personally have no desire to ever touch adderall again.

what healthy dopamine and serotonin "circuits"?

you take speed everyday and you worry about this combination? please.

Of course it's more damaging than just MDMA by itself, but since you're on the speed everyday, what does it matter?

I have done speed+MDMA quite a few times, and for me it was quite fun. Horrible crashes though.

Bitter bitter!

I've only been on the prescription speed for a few weeks now. It's for short-term use and I'd like to preserve my 'circuits' as best as possible, even if they are, as you say, in steady atrophy.

But by all means, I'd love to read your sources.

Yes, sorry about the bitterness. It´s just that reading over and over questions like these after all this years in bluelight regarding prescription amphetamines+any other drug has jaded me a bit.

Amphetamines, even if widely prescribed by, in particular, U.S. MDs, are in no way "safe".

Amphetamines causing DA terminals toxicity is a well known, studied fact. I can't be arsed right now about looking for the exact references but it's not big deal, they're all over the internet and any basic neurobiology book.

Anyway, whatever is short-term for you, I hope you are done with them ASAP.

AS far as combining MDMA with amphetamine, as long as the MDMA is a "una tantum" thing, it won't be a problem. God knows I have been high off both a few times and I'm still here and decently coherent.
