Activities to replace drug use with?

Weightlifting. Really any kind of exercise since you get dem endorphins which is your body giving you a natural hit of opioids.

Are you looking to kick all drugs or just H btw?
All drugs, except gabapentin, for the 5 months. Hopefully dont need most of them when I get back since I should have adhd meds prescribed by then.

The weightlifting sounds good. Hopefully they have a punching bag in my local gym. Thanks.

I was once told that there are no boring situations, only boring people. That comment has put me down a lifelong path of being super self conscious, so I don't know if it helps more than it hurts as far as advice goes.

Its a very personal thing, what we do with our "spare time". For me the main list of stuff that I would like to do if I wasn't wasting away my golden years:

-Write song lyrics
-write music for lyrics
-practice playing the songs
-draw my girlfriend while she sleeps (I have consent)
-make some paintings
-cook more regularly
-sell the food I cook and make more money
-play disc golf regularly (my only only physical outlet)

Just ask yourself what you wish you were doing. There must have been a time or a place or a thing that you felt enthusiastic about. Turn off all your electronics for one block of time, like 6 hours. Just sit in your own bordom, and let all the thoughts pour through your head, and you will know what to do. Works for me anyways.

I dont have a lack of things I want to do, but I go through periods where I have a lack of the correct state of mind to do all the stuff I want to do. I'm still learning to balance. It gets easier with age tho.

Physical activity!
Every successfully recovered addict of any drug I’ve ever met has replaced their drug with some form of endorphin releasing habit, gym junkies, kick boxing, marathon runners..

I love to get outside, but I’m not in any state for heavy physical exertion now days so last time I got sober I went out and bought a pair of kayaks.
Spent 3 years exploring every lake, river and even the sea occasionally (running into a bull shark in one of those tiny boats is ten times the ‘rush’ of any drug 😂😂😂) and stayed sober the entire time.

I bought a Nintendo 3DS and a load of Super Mario and Pokemon games. Honestly, it keeps you occupied for hours on and and is a great distraction.
I love a really good book, also keeps my mind off using for hours.

Find the most boring, unenjoyable, uncomfortable situations that you need and be complicit in, in notyour awareness of joining them. That's how you challenge yourself, balls to be bored and tolerance. ☺️

Alternatively,

:)

Both are pointless, one has a point

Good advices, thank you.

Ive been thinking about starting to cook in a daily basis, since I will have more money to cook. Also will likely start writing and playing more instruments.

CE, now thats a real advice! <3 I still sometimes think about downloading pokemon games to my pc and playing them. Guess I should find my old gameboys.

Sex is nice, so if you are bored, just call some bitches to come over. When i was quitting drugs, I called the sober ones.

There are those who are always complaining that your body is smelling weed, and so on, these are perfect. Alternatively, there are those who you had spent a considerable amount of saliva convincing them that drugs are cool and they had pretended to believe only to have sex with you.

Or that ex girlfriend who hates weed as she hates you, but she is still up to have sex with you anyway because she loves your body and since she broke up she have not had any other guy like you so that she is looking forward to cumming once more as in the past

Were you born stupid, Shady dear? I was merely asking for everyday/ 2-3 times a week activities, since I need more activities than normal people. Boredom withers me away as you should know.

Asking for advices just to get insulted by a low-life bully like you is quite funny.

Ah man reminds me of an ex who kept complaining about me smoking weed because "it'll give you schizophrenia" but she was proper fit and I'd definitely fuck her again no question if she was up for it. As long as my current girlfriend never finds out anyway 😂

mine was because of the smell, she was right, we were living together and I was smoking basically the whole day. She started hating cannabis over time. My home was smelling a lot, I was smelling, the taste in my mouth, my hair, beard..

As she didn't enjoy the smell, when I was smoking in general I was not with her, so weed was gaining an attention that otherwise she would gain, perhaps that's was the origin of the hatred.

Yeah the smell is honestly why I don't smoke more myself. Can't exactly rock up to the office smelling of weed.

when i came out of rehab i had a completely full timetable to keep me from doing stuff i shouldn't. i started playing the bass, loads of meetings/other therapy stuff, work, exercise, reading loads, started cooking food again for the first time in years, meditating, took some courses, video games. just fill your time with stuff that interests you.

it isn't so much about filling your time (though thats really useful at the start), more about shifting your perspective about drugs, which you can only do by finding other fun and fulfilling things to do, so drugs become less important.

Read, watch quality shows/movies, exercise, art of you are a creative type, museums, volunteer somewhere, go back to school, learn to program or some other useful skill, cook, learn about nutrition and health, meetups. These are just a few.

Jumping into dating can be tricky because honestly think about it, who is going to want to date an addict who just recently put down drugs/booze, odds are you wind up with someone nuts or codependent. Maybe wise to spend some time getting to know yourself, learning how to be a functional human again, before seeking a mate. Just my 2 cents.
