Across a white divide

[Furnace]

I love this.
Standing on the top of a mountain,
listening to the wind whip by me,
watching my friend's long hair try to escape from
her toque.
I laugh, and she punches me,
"I guess I got a haircut at the right time."
She smiles and races off,
"see ya at the bottom".
I stop and think.
I thought I was at the bottom.
But looking out onto nature's beautiful landscape.
Giant and majestic,
I am almost above the earth,
and I feel free.
I feel happy.
I could fly if I wanted to,
but I ride instead.
Cutting and slicing,
this fresh velvet snow,
watching my friend bail...
OOh. I catch an edge and flip over myself.
Like a chain reaction,
I fall into her.
After the rolling,
I breate a sigh of relief.
Get back up,
and do it again.
try, try again.
or else you just become that guy on the couch,
watching snowboarding videos,
thinking that watching TV is a domestic sport.
At the bottom,
I feel like I conquered the giant.
The giant that has been trying to conqured me.
I proved it to myself,
that I could do this.
and that's all I need now.
Fuck, I love snowboarding...even if it's for one day.

... i dunno about your abbs, but my ass burns after falling on it to many times after a day of un-experienced snowboarding
