I have read somewhere that the higher the acidity of your stomach, the less well you absorb medicines, specifically I read about this being true for Methadone. It was said that any acid foods or beverages - oranges, fruit juice, et cetera, would decrease the absorption of the substance, in effect lowering the oral bioavailability.

Is this true? Would having a glass of orange juice with your methadone or any other substance give you less effect, and if so, for how long before and for how long after should one refrain from eating oranges?

Thank you in advance.

I read that too I think if you consume a ton of base it can make a single dose stronger but im skeptical if you do ot everyday because your ph is tightly regulated.

I think an example is with chewing tobacco if you use baking soda ro increase the ph of your mouth it hits you harder but I found ot makes no difference for me because im always using it so it just needs a steady state and increasing the ph of mouth just had unintended side effects like bad taste, gum irritation, rednesms etc because its putting it in a unnatural environment I can only assume if you raised your stomaxh ph day aftrr day after day it cause similar unintended issues
