In order to remove all amphetamines from a patients blood, doctors use some compound to "acidify" the blood to make the excretion of amph quicker.
I have read something about the opposite being possible; making the excretion slower. But I have no idea what compound could do this.
I remember reading a post about it in alt.drugs.hard, but I can't find it. Does anyone know anything about this?

Sorry to say I don't know anything about this, it is an interesting theory though....

Here's the answer, straight out of ADH:
Yes kind sir i have your answer. I researched this last year and believe it to
be factual. Used only as information.
I have read several posts concerning how best to enhance the effects
of various amphetamine substances and I have the medical answer if
anyone is interested. what follows is the medical version of how to
eliminate amphets from the body....
Management of acute amphetamine intoxication is largely symptomatic
and includes sedation with a barbiturate. If hypertension is marked,
the use of a nitrite or rapidly acting alpha receptor blocking agent
should be considered. Experience with hemodialysis or peritoneal
dialysis is inadequate to permit recommendations in this regard.
Acidification of the urine increases amphetamine excretion.
The oral LD 50 is 174 mg/kg in mice and 104 mg/kg in rats. The
intraperitoneal LD 50 in mice is 153 mg/kg.
note that this includes all amphets and similar substances ie ice ,
ritilan,didrex, ionomin and adipex.
Ok the crux of this message is the fact that acidification of the
urine enhances excretion. The converse is also true..alkanilizing the
urine decreases excretion of the amphetamines!!!
How this works is that when the drug goes from the bloodstream thru
the kidneys and then into the bladder there is still a large amount of
unchanged drug in the urine. The chemistry is complicated but in the
end what happens is that if the urine in the bladder(and the drug) is
more basic (alkaline) the drug tends to be reabsorbed through the
bladder walls. (and if the urine is acid it is excreted w/o being
resorbed)
So to make the amphets last longer..get that urine alkaline!! Baking
soda in water works really well. About 2 teaspoons in water by mouth
2hrs b4 and then every 4 hrs after.

Yep, alkanizing your system does increase amphetamine absortption/decrease degradation. In addition to sodium bicarbonate you can use Tums (calcium carbonate) as well -- the combo works nicely, and has the added benefit of settling the stomach.
Unfortunately, you should have SOME antioxidants around (to reduce neurotoxicity), and alpha lipoic acid (as well as vitamin c --both are acidic, obviously), is the best antioxidant. I try and take it a few hours before doing any stimulants, as well as several hours into the stimulant use. You can also take non-acidic antioxidants like vitamin E and selenium.

Would a combination of magnesium and calcium carbonate substitute sodium bicarbonate effectively? The local pharmacy health store didn't carry baking soda...
