Acclimation?

Seattle, for a minute.
I smoked pot briefly at the beginning of my drug stint and promptly stopped after a handful of times because I hated it. It made me anxious, made my stomach cramp up (which apparently is unheard of?), and while everyone else wanted to relax and snack and jam on guitars, I wanted to go take a walk or jump on trampolines or something ridiculous like that.

I thought maybe, since it's been literally years since I smoked last, that those things wouldn't happen this time. I was really quite wrong, and those side effects were really quite worse than they were years before.

I know anxiety can be a side effect, but my question is: Will those negative side effects go away if I, for whatever reason, persist in smoking? Is it possible to acclimate to marijuana?

if you develop tolerance chances are you will probably loose these negative effects & trade them for others. Lack of motivation, attraction to things that are shinny, general avoidance of dealing with modern day society imo.

^^^ Good advice otherside, there's no harm in going really really slow, but a one-hitter and take it one puff at a time amigo...

Maybe pot isn't for you. It sounds like you don't enjoy it, so don't smoke.

Sounds like you're sensitive to THC. I can only handle about half a toke these days, or else it's a one-way trip to PanicVille.

TheFeverist, maybe try using a vaporizer?

Try taking tiny tiny tiny tiny vaporizer puffs. Just take the tiniest toke, so that you'll have to take ten puffs to get to where you want to be.

If you think it's worth your time...

I was very sensative to THC the first couple times I tried it. I had to build up a light tolerance before I could smoke theraputically. Taking small tokes, or vaporizing are both good ideas for easing into the high. I found a water-cooled vaporizer (like a cross between vape and bong) to be the best way to take a toke or two without feeling like I was getting too high. Another good idea might be to try cannabutter or tincture, again in small doses. Good luck!

Yeah, I suppose that is the solution... But, like drinking, it's easier just to do it for the social ease. Granted, I never gave a fuck about that. And I don't drink at all, either.

It would be nice to be able to calm down once in a while without having to pop prescription pills. People swear by the benefits of pot for this reason... I think I feel at odds for, in the same errand run, picking up vegan staples, organic kale, recycled shoes, and fresh-from-the-laboratory anti-anxiety meds. 'Coz I'd much rather do it au naturale, duude!
