Accidentally used urine test to test pills?

I was in a head shop today to grab some shisha coals when I spotted a little bunch of pouches that said drug test on them, but didn't have any instructions or info other than a graphic showing what positives, negatives, and invalid results look like.

When I opened up the pouch it had five panels and each one had a stick that needed to be dipped. "Weird" I thought, "I've never seen anything like this. Maybe I have to dissolve the pill in water and try dipping it".

I got clear results (no invalids), but I only realized after I did this that the thing is probably a urine test. Are the results of any value or are these things pretty finely calibrated for urine (or for metabolites for that matter)?

EDIT: Oh, and it's for amphetamine and methamphetamine, not MDMA, as I understand it after looking up a bit more MDMA tests test for antibodies.

The results should be perfectly valid if you got the pill dissolved in water. AMP/MAMP panels test for the actual drug, not metabolites (although they will cross react with a BUNCH of other stuff).

If you get a negative, that is a negative.
 
Thanks. Would a positive or negative result for cocaine also be valid, or could the presence of amphetamine trigger a false positive? It's actually a multi with COC, THC, MOP (Morphine?), Mamp, and Amp the panels although I was really testing for the last two.
 
Well, I'm not as familiar with the COC panel, but a quick google reveals it is a metabolite test, so that is going to be a no go most likely. I'm not sure what'll trigger a false positive on it, but I'd guess probably not most amphetamines.

So I'm guessing the cocaine test isn't really valid. But the amphetamine ones sure are. And IIRC the MOP/OPI panel is going to be testing directly for drugs also and be valid, where as the THC one is metabolite assay, like for cocaine.

Again, false positives from cross reaction is always possible depending on what substance.

Or rather, more specifically for this thread, no discussion of the mechanism of drug tests (that includes mentioning which molecules are being tested for)
