I’m used to having gaba prescribed at 100mg a pop, forgot these were 300. Do I need to call 911? Took 20 minutes ago, don’t think it’s onset yet. Thank you guys/gals

The nurse's drug handbook states :

--- 3600mg max daily dosage
--- halflife is 5-7hrs depending on dose
--- Precautions > Renal impairment
--- Toxic Reactions > slurred speech, drowsiness, lethargy, diarrhea

-- Side effects :
> frequent (19%-10%) - fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, ataxia
> Occasional (8%-3%) - nystagmus (rapid eye movements), tremor, diplopia (blurred vision), rhinitis, weight gain
> Rare (less than 2%) - anxiety, dysarthria (speech difficulty), memory loss, dyspepsia, pharyngitis, myalgia

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would drink a lot of water to help it pass through the kidneys faster and easier. Renal impairment is kidney issues.
If you are feeling the effects, try to get comfortable and not move around a lot. You should be fine in no time.
Apparently, taking large doses of this medication is a thing now days and hearing about overdoses rarely or never happens.

I took like 5 grams once. I think you're good

Thank you so much for this information. Your post has quelled a lot of anxiety for me. I’ll be sure to drink a ton of water!

I’ll take a few as well. Thank you
your welcome glad I could help. I learned something myself about the Tums/antiacid thing reducing absorption.

I really enjoy my "Nurse's Drug Handbook" because it has information that even doctors do not mention. Also if I am wanting a certain drug, I look up what it is written for and the off-label uses and study the symptoms that require writing of the drug. If I do not want to take something, I will study the side effects and adverse reactions and complain about the drug or what the drug did to me at some point. My medical paperwork states I am allergic to NSAIDS, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen so I can be offered real pain killers instead of gut-bombs, hot-flashes, intense itching, GI issues, and dizziness issues. One step ahead of those biased bastards thinking one shoe fits all.
