Okay I got pricked multiple times all on accident from syringes that were used by people with hep c. They said they don't have the antibodies or something and they couldn't be paroled from prison if they had HIV or hep c. More than one prick caused blood and I'm freaking out.

What is the possibilities that I contracted hep c or HIV? I'm getting my blood tested in two days . Should I go to the hospital today? Do I need to be extremely worried? I'm freaking out my life would be devastated if I got hep c from an ACCIDENT needle prick.

Nobody can help you answer this man. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if I were in your shoes I'd be pretty damn worried. Get tested, ASAP.

I'm sorry man but.. ^^ he's right. Nobody can give you an answer, bro. I wish I could. Fact is, if you got poked and drew blood from an infected needle, then yes you could contract it. That's how it gets spread.

Get tested. It takes a few months though for the hep c to actually show up on a test, so you'll have to get tested then too.

It's a serious risk but ull most likely be fine man obv get tested and make sure and I don't know if there's any preventive medication you can get?? But if there is you would deff want to see a doc or go to hospital ASAP to find out

If you're in an area with a hospital that treats needle stick injuries, you would go there asap (within the first 12 hours) to receive interferon and hep c antibodies... but it sounds like you don't have access to that... which means all you can do is get tested and hope.

With hep C it can take up to 3 months for the antibody test to render a positive, so if you test negative in the first 3 weeks you should also get tested again at the 3 month marker. In the mean time, for other people's protection you should assume you are infected: no needle sharing (which you shouldn't anyway), no unprotected sex, no sharing of personal hygiene tools like toothbrush, nailclippers or hairbrush because of potential for blood transfer. Anything with your blood on it should be safely disposed of.

Sorry for your predicament and good luck.

Hospital. Now. You have been exposed to hep c and potentially worse. The sooner you get anti retroviral medication the better chance you have at avoiding hiv. Not sure if there is hep c medicine.

They obviously lied to you; you can get paroled if you have HIV and Hep C, otherwise all inmates with these disorders will be serving life sentences, regardless of crime.

If you got pricked, and drew blood, then you should really get tested at the three month mark. Hep C is far, far more infective than HIV, so that would be my main concern, but get tested for HIV as well.

All that said, with recent treatment, people with Hep C, and HIV live long lives. All the best.

OK now listen to me you need to go and have the treatment they have for nurses pricked by hiv patients ASAP . the sooner the better. Hiv trace is possible after2weeks- 6 months hep c 5-6 days to develop antibodies . when that needle was used by the patient las time hep c survives for couple of hours in air but in blood clot for several days hiv minutes up to a day or 2 in blood clot

^The timeframe for that is pretty small. They won't let you take the risk, because it can cause kidney failure and some other possible issues, unless it was close enough after to make it worth the risk. Otherwise the chances of eradicating the virus(es) is too low to justify the aggressive treatment. You have to make the decision pretty quick, like within several hours.

I am kind of interesting in how this happened, too. Obviously its within the OP's personal choice to let us know, but multiple needles used by infected individuals?...damn. Sorry it happened to you OP, but either you or someone else was really neglectful to let this happen or someone did it to you on purpose.

If you are shooting up you really need to acquire a sharps container to dispose of needles. Or maybe the sticks were from plunging an arm into a sharps container? Whatever the case, there is nothing that sickens me more than users who leave their needles around in public areas or somewhere else that others could get harmed by it. IMO it is fine if you want to ruin your own body. But to put others at risk, especially children who might wander upon a used syringe, is disgusting behavior to say the least. Then you got junkies who wonder why they have a bad reputation,

Yeah man go get tested. Ive gotten pricked from my own shit i just throw it in the trash can and somehow this one time the top came off an as i was pullin the trashbag out to tie up and throw i felt a sharp pain, quickly jerked my hand and found and old needle on the ground so wierd shit like that does happen and if yer in a persons house that shoots be extra careful ya dont know where they put that shit and ya dont wanna sit on the couch and BAM know you fuckin got hep c for no reason at all just be careful.

Seek IMMEDIATE medical attention, and next time don't be in an environment when people cannot fucking cap their syringes when they're done. It's bright fuckin' orange and screams LOOK AT ME I AM IMPORTANT FOR A REASON! Don't forget your ABC's man....

Just like when practicing defensive driving, you may not be the weak link in the chain / you may not be the car on the road you need to worry about, it's everyone else behind the wheel that you need to focus on. I think this applies here.

I feel for you buddy, I really hope your okay. PM me when you know, much love, TC.

IN THE FUTURE, DISCARD YOUR (AND EVERYONE ELSES' USED RIGS) SHARPS PROPERLY IN A BIOHAZARD/HAZMAT COLLECTION BOX OR SUBSTITUTE WITH AN EMPTY BOTTLE OF BLEACH WITH THE WORD "SHARPS" WRITTEN ON IT IN PERMANENT MARKER.
