I'm wondering if anyone could steer me toward any studies that looked at the abuse liabilities of nonclassical dissociatives. These are a few I was thinking of:

Selfotel
Remacemide
(-)-8a-Phenyldecahydroquinoline
Aptiganel
Neramexane
2-MDP
Delucemine

I realize this is a substantial list, but I'm getting nowhere. TIA

I have personally tried l-2-MDP. I took 10mg (or was it 20mg?) every hour. After the third dose I was in a semi-dissociated state of mind, which was extremely unpleasant with lots of anxiety. It was the worst drug experience I ever had. I couldn't wait for the drug effects to wear off, which took a couple hours. 2-MDP is certainly bad news and you need to be real twisted in your head to abuse it.

Neramexane is probably most similar to memantine since it has a similar structure and general pharmacology.

While I cannot comment on Neramexane itself, I feel confident that it will be found to be similar to Memantine.

I tried Memantine at a dose of 100mg taken at 10pm; the effects did not manifest until I woke the next afternoon.
The effects were qualitatively quite similar to Dextromethorphan but lasted nearly 32 hours and were quite unpleasant in contrast to the aforementioned (it was entirely without the characteristic serotonergic happy contentedness I almost always get from DXM).
It was certainly not recreational; I would have liked it to have lasted perhaps 12 hours at the most.

Judging from my experience and the close similarity of the pharmacological profiles of both compounds, I would be highly surprised if Neramexane proved to be enjoyable.

Like many drugs, the recreational potential of dissociatives seems intrinsically tied to onset and duration. Quick onset, short duration = recreational, longer lasing, slower onset = terrible.

If Neramexane is shorter lasting, and it looks like it might be, it'll be more recreational, hence the reason I'm interested.

This is why i don't trust most people's opinions here about dissociatives. I honestly don't think most people here really like them, at all or in general. I have yet to come across one I don't like. N2O is the only one I would never want to spend $ for as it's pretty lame IMO. It seems like people hate dopamine stimulation that comes with quite a few of them. This effect however I quite like. DXM can b real euphoric (for me) but sometimes it gets kinda tense. PCP has long duration and high stimulation and I love it, as do alot of people(just not BLers). I haven't tried memantine, i wonder if it will frustrate me not to be able to HOLE off it, that would be the only assumption as to y I wouldnt like it, or perhaps that mixed with it's anticholinergic fx and DA agonism.

I don't remember why exactly but Aptiganel is the only one of these that rings a bell as being potentially interesting. I'll dig up and see what I find.

But this thread serves to demonstrate yet again that plain NMDA-antagonism is, for the most part, an unpleasant experience that somehow augments a drug's more desirable actions should it possess any.

i had sum experience wit tiletamine but i cant remember any details atm tho i posted about it on bl wit my ex-account so if u search it u cah find those posts tho as far as i can remember it wasnt the wonder drug
