Summer of Love
Ex-Bluelighter
Earlier this year, mid october, a friend of mine received an order of "Absinthe King" brand absinthe, which is based on an old swiss recipe. We didnt use the sugar cubes or anything, we just wanted to try it to find out the true nature of absinthe's mystical history.
I poured a shot full, and took a sip, and it was amazingly bitter, with sort of a strange licorice type taste to it(obviously an aquired taste) i downed the first shot, which my friend did also, and waited 10 minutes until the 2nd, and we still didnt feel any effects. we poured a 2nd and 3rd shot eached and downed those within seconds.
All we felt were the mild effects from the alcohol, and an occaisional speedy feeling, which definately wasnt a placebo, but mild.
we each took 2 more shots within the next hour, and of course the effects of the alcohol increased a bit, and also we both felt the speedy, euphoric feeling in a little more intensity, but still being quite mild, with the alcohol being the dominant feeling.
We experimented with it more in the enxt 2 days after that, and in conclusion, i think absinthe was enjoyed for mostly just the taste, which we actually began to enjoy once we got over the initial shock of how bitter it was at first.
Absinthe is in no way psychedelic, but i think it would be a great drink to have for making a good cocktail, and to just mellow out, sip on, and enjoy the taste it has to offer. I wasnt exactly expecting psychedelic results from it, so i wasnt dissapointed in the least bit.
If anything, we both found a new, strong, but great tasting drink to sip on with a nicely packed bong at our sides.
