Ok, I have an abscess on my muscle (ass) from 6 months ago when a friend of mine talked me into it she said that she had done it all the time and everything would be ok. I said no, but she said that she had already loaded the needle so i could either waste it or let her do it (like a dumb ass) so i let her. Please, no one start talking shit i had never ived dope before then, and i had no idea. I realize that i should have done some research b4 i did that, but i didnt. Now, i regret it greatly. The abscess is so painful and big i can not even stand the pain anymore. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, and knows how to fix it. I did a little reading on it, and everything said that i should go see a doctor. I am just afraid to go to the hospital/doctor bc i think once i tell them why its there and what happened that they are going to make me get help. I don't want to ever be associated with drugs on my record bc i am a business person and no one would ever guess that i have a drug problem. I am afraid that they will send me to a shrink or rehab or anything. So, my next question is how does that work? Would they make me get help? If they did make me get help would anyone ever find out? Sorry, I am clueless to this.

----I know that i am going to get a lot of replies of people talking smack about this. So, please just keep your opinions about it to your self. I understand that what i did was stupid. Now, i am suffering from it. So. please just bare with me here.

Im pretty sure that if you go to the hospital, they will simply take care of your problem and thats it...theres no BIG RECORD that doctors record your information in that ANY doctor can see.

Each medical institution or doctor keeps there own files and dont share files with other doctors unless you let them.

The Hospital WILL NOT make you get "help" like drug therapy or anyhting like that....they can reccomend it but they cannot force you.

Also...you could easily come up with some excuse as to how you got the abscess to make you look less like a druggy.

First of all, Wow you are on this site a lot. :) lol Secondly, thanks i know it may sound dumb for me to think that, but you never really know. I dont know what else to say as to how i would have gotten it? I think i am goin to the hospital tonight. Any suggestions? Fell on a needle maybe? lol jk but seriously idk

if I were you I would just be coompletely honest with them, as this will help them help you.
I was just suggesting making up a story in case you refused to let them know what really happened.
I think you will be fine by just telling them the truth...good luck!!

And I am on this sit alot today, I had nothing to do. And lately ive had more spare time, as my gf left me and i took leave from my job so I can better recover from my heroin addiction. So im staying away from alot of my friends right now, giving me more time for Bluelight!;)

I'm not going to talk shit to you because I realise your embarrassment. Plus you have let this go too long and it's not going to heal on it's own if it's been six months. Get yourself to the emergency room and don't wait any longer. They can talk to you about getting help obviously, but hippa laws prevent them from disclosing your information. (you live in the states, right?) I feel terrible for you going around with this and suffering. Nobody here is going to judge you, the doctor at the hospital may give you a lecture. That's it! Please go to the hospital and tell them the whole truth. This way they can treat you properly. Let us know how it goes, theresa

Go to the hospital.

Ppl get abcesses on their buttocks without ever injecting anything...my fiance had one recently on the side of once buttock recently. He had a small cyst that became inflamed and overnight grew to about the size of a marble. it was small enough to treat at home.

Thanks everyone for you help and support on this matter! I thank you for understanding and just giving me your best advice. I actually woke up and it was a lot better...surprisingly and i dont know why it all the sudden started getting better, but im glad and from everything that i have read about it they normally dont go away on there own, but its getting better so i think that i will wait and see what happens before i go to the doctor and make a fool out of myself. Just for everyones information i defiantly learned my lesson from that. I have IVed after that, but you will be glad to hear that i have not done that in over 5 months, and dont plan to ever do it again. I only tried muscling it one time and you see what happened with that (lol).

Instead of starting a new post i thought that i would ask you guys on this one.
Do people actually muscle dope on a regular basis? It seems really dangerous seeing as i have only done it once and it is still pretty painful.

Wait, though, if it's been 6 months, hasn't it been getting better then worse as time progresses? Because if it were a full-on, major abscess it would have become gangrenous and caused major problems by now. Your body has probably been fighting this thing off for all this time.

I really think you'd be better off just going to the doctor, pleading ignorance and getting it treated. If it's been 6 moths, just go in and say, "I have no idea how this happened and it's been months, and I was just hoping this would go away because it's in an embarrassing location, but I finally felt like I should get it dealt with."

There is NO way they're going to know it was from muscling dope. And they don't care. People do develop abscesses (probably starting as clogged pores, then pimples, then boils, and so on) on their butts for some reason. It could have resulted from a spider bite. Just get it treated so that you don't have to worry about it anymore. Unless of course, you get totally lucky and it magically disappears COMPLETELY in the next few days.

To be appropriately, disgustingly blunt, it's just not healthy to have a bunch of ancient pus sitting around in your body.

And, generally, people don't muscle dope all that often unless they blow out all their veins b/c the risk of abscess is so high, esp. with BTH.

Unless you still have the needle stuck in your butt cheek, I doubt they're going to know how it happened to you.

All you have to say is something stuck you, you don't know what, etc.

Please seek medical attention, and also, I hope everything works out for the best. Keep us updated when you get it checked out.

I'm glad to hear it's gotten better!

If it's still painful, I would still have someone check it out.

The only drug I ever IM'd on a regular basis was ketamine. I am considering IMing buprenorphine (after being micron filtered), but that's it. I IM'd 2c-E twice, and that's that. Everything else I have IV'd.

If people do regularly IM heroin, they are really seriously running a *much* larger risk than people who IV heroin, and I wish such people would come visit Bluelight to learn about proper IV technique.

I've never met a person who injected heroin intramuscularly. Firstly, heroin here is brown sugar so it's freebase, so secondly you have to add citric acid (mostly, acetic acid is alright too) and and heat to it. After filtering directly into the needle you get a light to dark brownish solution (depending on concentration of course). I can't imagine injecting that i.m. However, I knew one person who shot it i.m. when failed a few times to i.v. it and had a lot of blood inside syringe so guessed it's better to bang this shit with blood into a muscle instead of possibly causing clogging of a vein... No comment, I hardly see it in my imagination.

And a white to off-white or yellowish heroin salt can be found but I've never seen it in the home of brown sugar in Poland (i.e. Warsaw, however brown sugar is now in quite a lot of cities, just more expensive and a gram is not a gram), I've never seen dealers selling it, it's probably some little amount from the southern path, I've seen it in Lower Silesia. And from some anecdotal reports - it's always scored i.v. but obviously you need no weak acid to get a soluble salt. Water, heat, filter, hit.

Actually, if someone knows how to i.v. safely, this route of administration is in most cases safer than i.m. I did both a lot but i.m.'ing morphine is a waste. It's the same with lab grade heroin, I guess. Anyway, with no big tolerance codeine used to give me quite a rush i.m.'ed. But then shortly I met my morphine...

Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong.

Please go to the hospital. if you have an infection (which is highly likely at this point) you need antibiotics, and the abcess drained. Just think of how much better you will feel without constant butthurt!

Go to hospital, it sucks but try to say you were shooting something else...or just man up and tell them.

I had one on the arm and tried to put it off, eventually it hurt so bad I was almost in tears and when I went to the emergency they said if I wouldn't have came I could have died. The infections that cna get in your blood from an abscess are nothing to joke about.

If it's just swollen cause you missed a bit and it's only the fluid from your syringe that's another thing and will go away. But if it's been there many days and is hurting badly, go seek professional attention.

GO TO THE HOSPITOL TELL THEM THE TRUTH YOU WONT GET IN TROUBLE THEY ARE THEIR TO HElP YOU NOT ARRESST YOU.

yep, i had to do same. they even removed a needle from my arm and didn't call cops or anything.

How did the hospital staff treat you though? Many friends of mine have went to the hospital from drug complications have been treated like a scumbag piece of shit junnkie...makes you think twice about going sometimes.
