As i have posted on this forum before, i am voluntarily withdrawing from opiates because of the damage they have caused in my life. I am about 51 hours into withdraw.

When i posted before, i had said that i was only using for 6 months, i was actually using not everyday for about 8 months if that will make a difference in my questions below.

I was on 80-160mg of oxy a day for about 6 months, I was using constantly, like every 1-3 hours.

I was told on this forum a couple days ago, that the peak of my withdrawal symptoms would be at around the 36 hour mark, I am far past 36 hours, and still feel as if the withdrawal symptoms are getting worse. I also have a very fast metabolism so i don't know why that isn't helping my body rid this faster but i'd be happy for an answer?

For the first 48 hours, it was just constant, severe pain, without anything much else to it. So how much longer should it be until i peak out with worst symptoms? and how long to the peak symptoms last for, hours? days?

I have been told that people who use the same as i do have been sick for weeks and weeks, is that true?

You're doing great. Although I know you're in major pain. Don't give up now. The 72-hour mark is usually quoted as when symptoms peak. But it's not something that can be counted out to the last minute.

Although I'm familiar with watching that fucking clock and the second hand that slows down when you're in w/d. 1 sec = 1 hour.

But you're doing great. Keep posting. Keep distracting yourself. Take a hot bath. Smoke some weed if that works for you. Watch a movie. If you have any benzos or Ambien, take them. You'll have to just fight through these hours, but if you have anything that can help you zone out more, take it. The 2nd and 3rd days are the worst IME.

Don't give up. You're really close. Your will not be sick like this for "weeks and weeks." Oxy is a fast-acting, short half-life drug. You will definitely feel better by day 5. By day 7, you will probably be feeling like your (pre-opiate) self again, especially if you can start exercising by day 5.

You may experience low energy levels and slight depression for a couple weeks after you get through acute withdrawal, but you are NOT going to be stuck for weeks in the agony you're experiencing now. You will feel better soon, as in 2 days.

Day 2 or 3 is when most people cave in. Just keep adding hours to the 51 you have already. Seriously, take a lot of baths, watch movies, do anything to distract yourself to kill more hours.

You're almost there mate...really...the worst part is probably behind you. If you can convince yourself that...yeah, this sucks, but it's not THAT bad, things will be much easier for you.

Seriously though, you should be almost 100% physically in two days. Mentally, maybe never the same, as we never forget how good opiates can feel. Think about how weak they were getting towards the end though, were you even getting high? That always helped me, and still is. 45 days clean! Thousands more to go!

A hot bath is a great, and I mean GREAT idea. I would sit in mine with a book/magazine/etc for two hours, three times a day! But during that time I would not feel the WD's at ALL.

its getting really bad right now. whenever i take clonidine and it wears off i feel like shit. its scaring me, making me think that after clonidine, i will have all the same symptoms that it is masking

you are not masking the w/d, all the clonodine does is lower your blood pressure so you wont get the sweats n shit.there is nothing wrong with taking clonodine. you can take it forever n not get w/d from it. you should keep some handy for when you cant sleep.
