Will 5 htp help with abilify withdrawal? If not.. what will? I feel like I'm going NUTTTTTTSSSSSSSSS as herlllllllllll im fucking NUTSO even worse than on these pills and before I was fine I got roped into taking these by force.

Please tell me some things that can easy this horrible withdrawl!

Chill man, your not going nuts it's just your brain chemistries off.

I wouldn't count on 5 HTP. Try St Johns Wor, Kira brand.

I've read some reports stating it's Efficiency in antidepressant withdrawals and depression/anxiety, even though I know abilify isn't an SSRI, just a stabilizer, I couldn't hurt.

Exercise and heathly diet are your best friend, and by FAR the BEST cure.

Benzos as a last resort if you really can't control your thoughts, I'd suggest short term (1 month) of klonopin, but then again w/ds of clonazepam can be pretty nasty too.

There isnt any withdrawal to Abilify. What dosage were u using? When I was on 15mg/day I was glad to come off from it because it was causing me insomnia even though I was taking it during the morning only. I do not like taking this drug and would not recommend it to other people to try. It is not enjoyable and I found that it did not help me.

I have since switched to risperidone, but will be picking up a script of haloperidol today.

What kind of withdrawal symptoms are you experiencing? If you were on a chronic, high dose of any psychoactive, you should have tapered down, of course.

My guess is that Abilify's action is largely mediated by 5-HT2A antagonism, so maybe an antihistamine with that property, like hydroxyzine could help.

I used some 5-htp and it only took a night(after 2 weeks use) and everything regulated back to normal. I withdrawed a year ago from years of use and it really took a long time and messed me up so I was afraid, but thankfully the 3 days of 5-htp and drinking plenty of water helped. Thanks for your advice. My symptoms we're delusions, depression, dark thoughts, anger by the way.

Ps. The stuff is poison, dont use pharms to help mental issues, ittl fuck you more than ittl help with anything. just my experience that your brain needs to mature and if you are always on pills then you will never know it matured and feel weird.

Discontinuation syndrome could theoretically occur. Why was the drug prescribed (ie for what condition)?

im curious to know more about abilify WD. I am about to discontinue it as well. It really should not cause much WD at all on paper, as nothing really upregulates or downregulates from it. Maybe some increased NE and glutamate as well as restoration of normal dopamine function....
