Mental Health Abilify and St.Johns Wort?

This is absolutely true.

The main issue with Abilify and other antipsychotics is that St Johns Wort seems to speed up how quickly the liver breaks down the medication, which means there's less of the drug available, which ultimately means that it may seem to have less of an effect and/or you need a higher dose to have the same effect.

That is my understanding of it anyway. Perhaps someone with better knowledge could explain it better?

Don't ever take anything that increases serotonin with Abilify. I thought I was going to die. I took Abilify and not being able to sleep I took some 5HTP, and also took some extended release Darvon. This was in 2014. I felt so ill, and vomited for what seemed like an eternity. It was all that fucking serotonin that could have killed me.

Please don't mix stuff with Abilify. The stuff is dangerous if mixed with anything except a benzo in my experience.
