Just a question for those that have seen it (or even those that haven't):
WHY do you think the coverage is so unbiased / atypical? Who do you think sponsored this, or why would it get approval? Any input welcome![]()

Has anyone read the "legalization of marijuana" article in Details by Bill Maher?
HE made a very interesting point in the article. It was, in order to make a serious and legit run at legalizing marijuana .....There must be people who actually dont use the drug to promote its use. There are too many stoners who simply say " YEa dude....hehe.....weed's good...uhhh......yea lagalize this stuff"
These people arent taken seriously and lack creditbility. The strongest staement is made when someone stands for something on pure principle w/o the personal gain.
But i think in an indirect way Peter Jennings is making the same type of statement. He is making this type of statement simply on principle. He is in no way condoning its use. Neither would he favor it just simply b/c he uses it, IMHO
I think ultimately he is making a stand toward government propaganda. The biased propaganda doesnt necessarily just exist w/in drugs. I think he is also making a subtle statement about the way the government mislead the world about WMD in Iraq.
I dont think it would be wise for him or NBC to make a direct statement against the war b/c its such a hot topic and subject to scrutiny. Its a subliminal statement about the credibilty, well lack ther of, w/ the government.
Its a big wake up call and i have been waiting a long time for this type of enlightenment to occur in mainstream media.
and in part it is a nightmare of their own making - the government has been determined to stop the spread of ecstasy by making dramatic claims about brain damage that are exaggerated and unconvincing.
