So I'm thinking about going to an AA group tomorrow.
I don't feel like I should be going, I went two days this week without drinking. I feel if I went I'd be a fraud. I feel they'd laugh me out of the room. I've never been before and I am scared they'll tell me I don't belong. I have issues with alcohol I know I do, but are they AA worthy? What can I expect and what can I do to support myself through this?

Its a support group, not high school gym.

If you feel like it is something that may help you, then I say you should definitely go.

What do you have to lose? A hour or two of your time?
You may gain a great tool for your sobriety!

Go and let us know how it went.

Its always hard for people to go the first time. Its good to remember though that everyone who is there was in your exact position at some point and had to make the somewhat uncomfortable first trip into the rooms. Without any judgment I think if anyone even questions whether they are an alcoholic then they likely are and it seems like really good sense to try this avenue to try and address this.

Here is some information you may want to check out.

I wish you luck:)

Like everyone else has said, I would absolutely go - nobody sits around and questions whether or not they should go to AA by 'mistake'... ;)

And I promise you, the LAST thing that is going to happen is people laughing you out of the room and criticizing your for not have severe enough problems. AA literature specifically states that there is no set consequences or drinking intensity required to be there, or to be an alcoholic. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Go, then go to a different meeting the next day and the next day and so on. Also introduce yourself when they ask about newcomers and stay after to smoke a cigarette, chances are a couple people will come up to talk with you.
