A sad note

Hello everyone,

I am afraid I don't have pleasant news. One of our fellow PR'ers has passed away. "AuFuTu" died in the early morning hours of 4/23/06. I do not know how he passed, as this is very fresh news and I have not heard anything back from his brother yet.

AuFuTu was such a great guy. He was always a reliable member of the PR community. He did have an account here at BL for a while, but I know he deleted it for personal reasons. I will be putting in a request to the BlueLight Shrine shortly.

I had last spoken to him on the 17th. He was getting ready to watch "Requiem For A Dream". He was excited about DEMF (Fuse-In), and had offered to get the hubby & I comped tix if we wanted to come up. He was just *hella* cool. If anyone here goes to DEMF (Fuse In Detroit), dance to Richie Hawtin's set in his memory. He was so excited and loved the festival dearly.

If anyone here knew AuFuTu IRL, please PM me. I know no more details than what I have given here, as I only found out when I signed onto AIM a bit ago (after being afk for a few days) and saw the announcement from his family on his "Away" message. I am keeping his personal information private out of respect for his family, and I ask anyone here that knew him (IRL or online) to please do the same. If you would like further information regarding his funeral services, please contact me here on BL through PM, or alternately, you can email me at: [email protected].

I will miss you greatly AuFuTu, my friend. :*( May you be in peace, and in a much better place than this eartly realm.

He was 18.

Out of respect for his family's wishes, I will not give certain information, but I will pass along a wish from his friends who have contacted me.

Please be sure you know what you are putting into your bodies. Test everything you can, and know and trust your source. You don't think it can happen to you, but it can.

You are greatly missed, my friend.
 
RB, I do not know how I did not see this before. I will be going to DEMF next week and it is kind of funny because I know Richie Hawtin personally. Since that was the set that AUFUTU was looking forward to, if you or the family would like a DAT recording of the set, I will see what I can do about it. Lust let me know and I will ask...

It is really sad, yes people, please be careful and wise in the choices that you make.

Thanks Xyz, I'd love to have that recording if Mr. Hawtin would be willing to pass along a copy. I will contact his family and see if they would like a copy as well. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words.

Oh how I long for the days when (most of us) just did *one* type of drug at a time. :( It was enough then, and I think it's enough now. If you are mixing your recreational drugs, please, please LEARN about how they could possibly interact with each other BEFORE mixing them together. There is so much information out there on the net (and here at Bluelight & sites like erowid.org), and it really doesn't take long to type in a few words and do a search. A few minutes worth of time could mean the difference in being a statistic and being alive the next day.
 
Hey RB, I spoke with Richie this evening. He is going to see what he can do to DAT record the set. He says DEMF is run by different promotters each year and some have rules against recording even your own set. He is going to check into it for me. I leave tomorrow evening to go up so if I hear anything before then I will let you know.
 
is this death related to the fentanyl patches that have been killing people in the detroit metro area?

No, it was not. It was due to mixing drugs that should have not been mixed together. I was not aware of the fent patch problem since now I have no contacts in D-town--thanks for the heads up. Always good info to know.

yeah, apparently the fent patches are being mixed with something else that increases the risk of a fatality. both ways have been reported.
