When testing a pill is there any way to find out if there are trace amounts of mesculine?
Say the pill is 85% - MDMA x 15% - mescaline

(250 mg x 0.15=)37.5 mg of mescaline is not biologically active.
it will not alter a trip, it will not cause a trip on its own. it is a waste of money and chemicals to put 37.5 mg of mescaline in a pill. for any reason, except, i guess, to give a positive test for mescaline.
and i don't know one, except that sometime in the past i discussed two rather difficult tests for determining the presence of disubstituted (i.e. mdma-type) vs. monosubstituted (i.e. pma/mescaline-type) ethers.

Thanks!
I actually just talked to someone this morning. In regards to these pills. He told me that they are actually 50/50, mesc/mdma.
Could this be possible? And would it be a waste of time and/or money?
Thanks so much for the quick reply!
PEACE!!!!

Sorry to say but you will never find mescaline in ecstasy. Go on Erowid and look at the psychoactive dose for mescaline and then for MDMA. Let's do some exaggeration here and assume that the average pill weighs 200mg. 100mg of ecstasy, that should be fun, 100mg of mescaline is barely a threshold dose. A dealer I know has made some claims about mescaline in pills that I know are incorrect also. He claims that all green pills contain mescaline (untrue) and that all red pills contain PCP (there probably are red pills that contain PCP but I have taken red ones that definitely were not PCP). I don't know if anyone else has ever heard of this "color coding" myth. It would be nice if there were many mescaline containing pills, because it's a very rare find where I live. The only time I've done it was when I got it out of the cactus myself. There's a good reason while mescaline is pretty rare. Extraction is a pain, and synthesis is very hard.

Heh. Even if it were true in theory, how the heck would it be true in practice? It's not like the manufacture of ecstasy pills is a regulated industry where strict codes must be adhered to!

Once had pills that were very trippy, but in a very negative way. I am sure I have never had the drug they contained before. Wondered about mescaline at the time (but knew it wasn't likely). Looked on erowid and saw the chemical TMA. It's description sounds a lot like our experience, and it says that this drug is somehow sort of related to mescaline. It's active dosage is about the same as mdma so it could fit in a pill.
Just out of interest, those pills were green!
