ok. so im used to missing, it happens to me a lot. an i know how it feels. ive ben doing heroin for 5 years, and i have shity veins so i know what an abcess is like, and what a miss that just hurts is like. but he other day i had this miss on my arm, and now a few days later its just burning as i movemy arm. like if blood rushes to it, i jus this terrible burning sensation like i cant eplain it any other way. i was jus womdering if thats happened to anyone else, and if its somethig i need to get checked out.

Eta: oops, I see someone posted the same link above ;)

If you're missing a lot and getting abscesses frequently after 5 years of using heroin intravenously, you need to seriously work on your technique. There is just no good reason for that, shitty veins or not.

Here is one link to get you started:

As for your current issue, if you have complications from a missed shot that have not resolved themselves by now you need to seek immediate medical treatment. We're not doctors and even if we were, we couldn't diagnose you over the internet. Going to the ER may be awkward but guess what's a million times worse? Losing an arm or your life.

i actually have a fine technique. i just wanted o know if anyone else thought it looked weird. seriously how would you recommend hitting shit veins? when i go to the hospital, they have never been able to hit me even before i started using. last ime i went they used an ultrasound, and a 4 inch needle. i have been able to hit any person just fine. i just have always had a problem getting my veins out. but i dont need a fucking introductory to shooting up. im not stupid. like i said ive been doing this for a while, you guys are just kind of being shitty about my fucking question.

If it's been more than a few days and it's still giving you problems, please see a Dr.

As far as what to do to prevent missing, you need to find a vein you can hit more reliably.

These vein map pics might help you find a better spot to inject if the veins in your arm are shot:

There's no pride in being a junkie, ever.
They're only trying to help you, and yes they may be a little forthcoming on the topic but still dude, bad technique or not, you gotta change the way you do things if you want to have any reasonable attempt at living for the next decade or so. Not trying to be grim, but honest.

Read through the threads they posted, there's some damn good info in there, unless of course you think having the best needle shot in the game is worthy of a trophy, in which case keep doing what you're doing.
-Good luck, I'd say to seek medical help at this point and I truly hope it gets resolved without too much pain or involvement of law enforcement.

Since youre experienced w shots and missing and you realize that this time something is different/wrong,id really go and see a doc about it if i were you.

We all know ppl, have heard stories, read threads etc bout ppl losing arms, its a real thing and even if its a longshot, its better to be safe than sorry, every time.

Even if youre 99% sure that itll be fine, think about the concequences of that 1% youll be wrong. Its not some track marks or OD,its disability for life...
