Okay so I live close the the meth capital of the US and I was just wondering (because I don't know too much about this).. is it true that in the cooking process if one were to use more lithium than normal that it would make it more potent? I am not looking for a synth or anything like that.. just trying to win a free pack of smokes from a bet.
Inquiring minds would like to know

There is no lithium in meth...But.. if you put some in it might have some health benefits. Lithium is the wonderdrug of the early 1900's

Hope that helps with your pack of smokes!

y0de!

Hey DRE, what up d00d?
A bit outside of your question, I would defiently say Bakersfield or Northern Cali by Chico is the 'meth capital' of the US...Anyhow, don't know about lithium, but it is safe to say Cali is the Meth State of the US........

Don't forget about good old Independence, Missouri. It's not called Methdependence for nothing.. Last I heard it had the most meth per capital, followed by SoCal, but that's probably changed..

What up Trib?
I would agree and say NorCal too, but who knows. The other one I was thinking was San Jose - lots of portable meth labs from what I remember.
Back to the question at hand, I'm not synth guy, but I have seen a synth or two that mentioned lithium, don't know if they were real synths or not.

I'm gonna out out on a limb here...
I think the claim that more lithium makes meth more potent is wrong.
Like any other chemical reaction, if u use too much of something, it won't all convert, in this case, to meth. Instead, it should be in excess. Oh yeah, the lithium they use in meth synth comes offa batteries...very dangerous...i believe is called the birch synth...I myself only dream about the P/P reaction.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

No, there isn't any Li in meth (C10H15N), but nor is there either P4 or I2, however Li is used in one (Birch) synth and RP&I are used in another. I'd have to agree with 420Child. A chemical reation is a chemical reation. The quantity of the reactants won't have much effect on the chmical composition of the product. If you have too little of one or more reactants then it will limit the extent to which the reaction converts precursors into what you want, but more of the reactants won't make the product any more pure. In fact, too much of a reactant will make the product less pure b/c it will be contaminated with unreacted precursor. I'm no cook

, but I'm pretty sure about this.

lain beat me to it... Lithium is used in the "cold synth" aka the "Nazi recipe" ... you use lithium and anhydrous ammoina for the rxn... unless you were TRYING to fuck up, I don't think it would be possible for lithium to be carried over to the final salt..

Um, maybe his method wasn't that good, but thats what you do - since you don't need a horrible amount of Lithum for a small batch, batteries are some of the best places to find your lithium strips ... sadly anhydrous ammonia is a little harder to get...

If we're going by slang, then your perfectly wrong beebs. Crank refers to poorly synthed methamphetamine. Its usualy dirty as hell and the high shitty. Where as crystal meth is more properly synthed and a lot cleaner.

yes, yes, yes, let us clear up this myth about slang! i certainly enjoy my meth, but won't touch crank. where i'm from glass is the perfectly clear, high quality meth. ice refers to relatively clear meth. although ice is also slang for 4-methylaminorex, it usually refers to meth here. shards is a general name for uncrushed, crystalline meth, and crank, weell, crank is just shitty opaque nasty redneck shit. i hated it the forst time my parents sent me to this drug counselor saying i was 'smoking crank'. no i fucking wasn't! i was partaking of only the finest glass. the nerve of some people!

It's a chemical reaction; it depends on the exact process and amounts of chemicals used. If Li is the limiting reagent, adding more will increase the yield and hence purity; if it isn't (probably the case) then it won't. Most of the impurities are generally cuts or poor extraction anyways.

crank is methcathinone. Cowboy speed, the only illeagal chemical is anhydous amonia, a very explosive nasty nasty fertilizer, availible at your nears middle of nowhere. very dirty shit

with the proper amount of lithium(from the batteries) in proportion to the amount of anhydrous ammonia you will get fairly clean "crank" that burns clear, with too much lithium or not enough ammonia the "crank" looks the same but burns much dirtier, taste nastier, and the comedown is sickier.
more lithium will not increase potency

Crank is methamphetamine not methcathinone. No one sells CAT. Don't want any greenlighters poluting the minds of the people that would listen to him.
