A little reassurance, or bad news?

Hey, Gang ~

So, here's my story:

I've been an avid on-again/off-again MDMA user for about 20 years. Mostly sporadic, with one period of fairly frequent use. After that period, I felt it was affecting me adversely and I took a long break from it, for roughly 10 years. Then, kind of as a special treat, I and my family decided to do it together (my mom & dad were frequent users in the 80s and later introduced it to me in a "safe" environment). This will be relevant momentarily...

So, after a long layoff I got some MDMA from a trusted source who tested it for me and affirmed it was pure. I've always been very careful to get clean stuff; powder, never pills. Prior to the roll, I acquired every antioxidant and nutrient as suggested by rollsafe.org and followed it to the letter.

Here's the problem, I mistakenly, unknowingly did too much. I probably wound up ingesting somewhere between 300-400mg. It became obvious for everyone amid the experience that something was wrong. It was overboard.

The experience itself was not terrible; actually, I had a great, if unfocused night. Afterwards, I set about trying to fortify my system with all the right things; Magnesium, fish oil, 5-HTP, vitamin and various minerals, as well as Omega fats. My memory and cognitive function is fine, for the most part. It's been roughly 3 months since th roll.

The main symptom I'm concerned about is decreased libido and lessened erection. Morning wood has been either not happening or rare. Sexual desire is definitely decreased, as is physical sensation. Orgasm strength has also diminished.

Now, this doesn't seem terribly consistent, as there are time when everything seems to be working pretty strong & well. But not always, and not as often, and it wasn't until I began researching recently that I discovered sexual dysfunction is a side-effect of MDMA. But circling back around to my family's heavy use of it in the 80s (they said there was a year where they did it practically every weekend), it might shed light on why my father has had erectile dysfunction since he was in his 30s. I am now concerned I have inadvertently followed in his footsteps.

While I have read almost nothing but success stories when it comes to regaining memory function or getting out of depression with enough time and self-care, the results of sexual recovery have not been nearly as promising in online testimony.

So, I'm wondering if the community here has any insight that I can hang a hopeful hat on.

I'm exercising, eating well, taking magnesium, fish oil, 5-HTP, a daily multivitamin with 100% recommended zinc, lots of Omega fats from pure sources, calcium, and a lot of minerals. So, I think I'm "doing" the right things. I'm not interested in an ancillary drug regimen & would prefer to take a more holistic approach...

Basically, I'm just hoping somebody who has had this experience can confirm that it gets better. I can't believe I took as much as I did, which was entirely an accident (misunderstood how much was in each capsule). I'm hoping I haven't hurt myself in a lasting way because of it.

Any good news?

Thanks for your time...

All the best.

From what I understand, erectile dysfunction is an acute side effect of MDMA, not a chronic one. Have you considered other causes for what you are experiencing?

I'm not denying ecstasy may lead to less sexual desire for a few days or weeks after using due to depleted serotonine levels. But that's not the same as it causing ED. I googled ecstasy and ED a bit. Lots of sources on the subject I find seem rather unscientific. I'd be curious to find out what experts know about ecstasy and ED...

I think you're probably overthinking it a tad and just need a bit of reassurance. ED and decreased libido is often very psychological and more prone to occur as you get older independent of any actual drug use. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if excessive consumption of any stimulant resulted in ED. But I'd more say this would occur with regular usage instead of one off large doses. If you're regularly taking amphetamines then I'd say that's a more likely cause. If not, it could well be a psychological thing. Relax and give it some time.

I've been aware of the acute symptoms, but only recently have researched to corroborate the experience I'm having. There are several people who have attested to these same symptoms. Hopefully it is just psychological, or whatever. I'm on no other drugs.

Appreciate the feedback.

I know when one is anxious one needs to hang onto some good news stories. To however give you both sides I unfortunately have not been that lucky. I also inadvertently took a very large dose (probably around 500-600mg mark) and it almost literally obliterated by libido / erection over night. I used to love sex and had instant erections and without fail daily morning wood. Morning wood stopped overnight and and my erections are pretty poor. Also (and apologies for the visual) but I used to exaculate quite some distance but now it literally dribbles out. Now not saying you won't recover as lots do and you only appear to have this one symptom but for me this is one of the plethora of negative side effects which I am still suffering from following that catastrophic evening.
