A great way to conserve your weed

If you're anything like my friends and I, you probably can blow through an 8th in a night between you and a friend or two with no problem. Maybe even a 1/4 on a good night!! :) This shit gets expensive...

It's pretty obvious, and primitave, but if you're a bong user, there's a great way to conserve your weed, as long as you're cool with just being high and not smoking. I know a lot of people smoke....just to smoke. If you smoke to be high, read on...

I'm not trying to act like I'm some kind of pioneer or anything, this method is pretty obvious and doesn't require much brainwork to figure out why it conserves your weed. It's simply something I do, it works great for me and I make an 8th last me a long time, so why not share?

Also, allow me to say that I have a pretty high tolerance. I smoke every single day, and I'm used to having good-excellent quality bud at all times, due to my geographic location in the PNW. This always works for me. I did this right before I started writing this, and I am now starting to feel REALLY high, and that was with some pretty mediocre bud. :D

Simply load a bong with some good quality bud, put a decent amount (a generously packed bowl), and take one deep, long and thick hit, just enough smoke to where you feel it about to burn the back of your throat. Then, hold it in for a good 10-15 seconds deeply, not in your mouth. Then, slowly exhale (do not cough!!) out through your nose (mouth is fine but I feel like nose gets you a little more head-high) and you're done! Go about your business, do not hit the bong any more. Over the next 15 minutes you'll feel yourself getting prgressively higher and higher until you realize "Holy shit, I'm baked!" from one hit!! The best part is, you still have the whole rest of the bowl to last you for later! I normally stay high all day long on one nicely packed bowl. Normally, over the course of the day, I could blow through bowl after bowl. Now, one bowl keeps me feeling excellent all day. I feel less cloudy too because I don't have smoke constantly cycling in and out of my lungs.

In about 30-45 minutes when you start to feel yourself sobering up, either just sober up and do what you have to do, or if you're trying to stay high, repeat! Trying to acheive a constant high, this bowl should last you a good 4-5 hours depending on how dense you packed it. Another advantage to this method is I feel like I am much more in control of my high. If I ever need to sober up, I'm never much more than a half hour from being perfect.

uh if you hold a hit in for longer than 14 seconds the ratio for destroying your lungs over getting high is increased.
 
so.. pretty much the whole point of your multiple paragraph post was to tell us to just take one bong rip, and hold it in? and somehow just one hit gets you really high...
 
Seattle I TOTALLY get what you are saying. These guys don't smoke enough GOOD pot on a REGULAR basis to understand your advanced smoking technique.

Let me try to make these guys see whats up.


When you smoke A LOT, you tend to smoke one hit after another....as soon as you catch your breathe you will take another hit. This is ESPECIALLY more apparent if you are a cigarette smoker (who generally takes several hits in one minute). So, you end up smoking until you feel stoned. This is NOT necessary.

It goes the same for eating. You can eat really fast and then get full, or you can eat slow and get full with LESS food, because it takes time for your body to tell your mind that you are 'full' or 'high'.

The point is, it takes several minutes for the peak of BONG hit to settle in.

JUST BE PATIENT. SMOKE SLOWLY.

A better way to is to make a gravity/waterfall with a 1/4 or 9/32 socket. pack a little bit (less than half a gram) and pull, then inhale..

Wolfgang (did I get that right?) put it the way I originally should've. That is more toward the point of discussion I was aiming. Basically, smokers tend to keep smoking until they get high, when in reality, a much smaller amount of pot can get you just as high. I was wondering if I was alone in thinking this.
 
If you're doing most of your smoking alone, get a nice little chillum. They can really stretch out a bag.
 
LOL ok guys, the point of this thread is simply that I feel like I get plenty high from one good hit and conserve my whole bowl to last for a long time, does anyone else feel this way?

Sheesh if its so terrible, close it. I suppose Im just trying to share a positive cannibis experience with fellow smokers. *shrug*
 
I get what your saying Seattle. I do this alot although it does feel weird. My tolerance has never been huge but I used to smoke bowl after bowl until i could feel myself gettin high instead of waiting and letting it gradually come. It feels wierd not knowing whether you smoked enuff but it does work.

Yessss! waterfall's with ratchet extensions are the bomb! One good waterfall rip and I'm usually pretty skeed!
 
Hey OP, I appreciate what you are trying to do with this thread and what you have said is totally true. The fact is though, that everyone who has ever been a serious smoker knows this but 90% of the time (the 10% being when you are low on bud :p) you just keep smoking for the sake of it anyway.

Back when I was a pothead on a friday or saturday night me and a few friends would smoke through 1/2 an ounce up to an ounce sometimes just because we would be sucking down bongs the whole time. Even though we all had a high tolerance to weed it is obvious that we would basically of been as high all night with a lot less weed if we used it sparingly but the bong keeps on going around.

I noticed very quickly that if I waited for my weed to hit me I would be adequately stoned after 3-5 bongs depending on quality of the bud and how many times I had already smoked that day. I still found myself on average smoking like 10 cones every time I would have a smoke, its a mental thing that you develop where you enjoy smoking and want to smoke dope nearly as much as you want to be high.

It definately takes a lot less weed than a lot of people realise to feel 75% as stoned as you can get from smoking any amount. There is definately a distinctly reduced effect of what more weed does to you after you are initially stoned. I have even noticed when plowing through big mixes that you get to a point you have smoked so much weed you feel more sober than you did when you were halfway through it.

Now I have quit weed and only smoke occasionally because I had such a monster tolerance before my tolerance is like less than zero. 3 or 4 cones and I am absolutely fried and it lasts for hours whereas when I smoked a lot I would feel truly stoned for less than an hour unless I smoked a lot.

Still when I do smoke these days because all my other mates are still potheads the mix keeps going around and I will keep smoking and smoking. It is just a psychological thing, for some reason stoners end up enjoying the ritual of smoking nearly as much as being stoned. I will end up smoking 15 bongs in a sit even though a quarter of that will have me as fried as I could ever get.

Nope. Not alone. I have a very small bong and pack it fairly lightly. But boy oh boy if you have just one hit it makes you want another. I leave it ten minutes even though my brain is asking for more and then POW. I don't need another :)
Makes smoking a lot cheaper.
