My boyfriend and I have recently started using rigs to do heroin, we live on the east coast. I am naturally not a laid back person and am very skeptical and paranoid about a lot of the things that could go wrong using this way. Here are most of my questions and worries that he is getting quite sick of hearing and answering every day.

Question 1,
What if there are bubbles in the rig? Is it true that if air gets into your veins it will stop your heart, or is this a city myth? Does the needle even allow air to get into your veins?

Question 2,
What happens when you get cotton fever? How long does it take to go away? and could this also stop your heart?

Question 3,
Can my boyfriend and I share needles? We know 110% sure that neither of us are contaminated. We have not been keeping track of who uses what needle. Is this okay?

Question 4,
Does how much water you put on the shot matter? Will too much water thin your blood? Will too little water clog your veins?

Question 5,
What if he misses when he tries to hit me? How long does it take for the bump in the muscle to recede?

Question 6,
Can you reuse needles if you thoroughly clean them out after every shot? If so, how many times?

Question 7,
Are you supposed to clean the injection site with alcohol before or after you inject?

Question 8,
Are you more likely to draw up a piece of cotton when you are drawing up the last of the mix?

Question 9,
How many shots can you put in your veins at once? Ex: Is it safe to do 3 full shots or will the water thin your blood?

Question 10,
Is it safe to do a "second shot"? (draw up more water and inject what is left at the tip of the needle?)

Question 11,
If you reuse the needle will your blood coagulate? Someone told me you can give yourself hep c this way, is this true?

Question 12,
How easy is it to blow out a vein? Is this more likely to happen when the tie is tied off closer to the injection site?

Question 13,
If one of us falls out and we need to call an ambulance, will they be arrested after the hospital care/ the other be arrested on site?

Question 14,
Does all of the cut get absorbed in the cotton?

Question 15,
If the rig is registered is it still possible for the tip to slip out of the vein?

Well I think that pretty much covers my worries. Anyone who can answer all of these with detail and give us some more advice about using rigs I would appreciate the help so I can calm down and enjoy my high, thanks! <3<3<3

I can tell you for sure you should never share needles and shouldn't even use it more than once on yourself...look up a pic of a needle under a microscope before and after 1 use. It's pretty clear that it will fuck up your veins quick if you keep reusing them. Sorry I just know one I'm not a H user.

Jesus christ that is a lot of questions. If you are so worried, you should probably just not IV heroin. It is a very hard road to come back from, but I will try my best to answer your questions.
1. Get all the bubbles out before injecting the shot. It wont kill you if a few tiny ones get through, but its best to be safe and get them out.
2. Cotton fever wont kill you, but it really sucks. Its just 3-4 hours of feeling 100x magnified flu symptoms in my experience. If you use clean equpitment every time and don't rinse your cottons, it's not likely to happen.
3. It is always best NOT to share needles if you can help it. Its also good to use clean needles everytime. Especially never share with someone who you haven't personally seen their recent test results.
4. Water content doesn't matter that much, you just need enough to dissolve the heroin.
5. If he's a pro, he shouldn't be missing. Missed shots can lead to abcesses which can be very dangerous if not treated. Learn to hit yourself, always register to make sure your in the vein.
6. Yes you can reuse needles, its best to use a clean one for every shot though. They tend to get dull pretty quickly, I used to use mine 10+ times (which is horrible btw) and it would be like sticking a nail in my arm at the end. Plus after the first use it is no longer sterile, no matter how hard you clean it.
7. before
8. not sure what you mean by this, its best to micron filter but if you don't have acess q-tips are 2nd best.
9. don't understand this question either. I don't see how anyone could do more than 1 shot at a time... you make your shot at potent as you want so theres no reason to do more than one shot.
10. I always used to rinse my cottons (i think this is what you're asking) it is more likely you get cotton fever that way, but there will still be heroin residue left in the cottons after your initial shot. I used to save all mine for when I was sick and didn't have dope.
11. No you can not give yourself hep c. The only way you can get it is from sharing with someone who has it. Its a virus, it can't just generate out of nowhere (despite a lot of people seem to think this!)
12. I've never 'blown out' a vein so idk, you're supposed to take the turnicate off before pushing the shot in though
13. In most states, yes. My state just passed a new law protecting the caller, but check your state laws to make sure. (Even if you can get arrested, if this happens STILL CALL. IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR LIFE TO NOT BE ARRESTED!!!)
14. depends on whats in the cut
15. not likely, but can happen. register again after removing the turnicate to make sure your still in.

hope this helps

*takes a deep breath*

1. Myth. It takes a LOT of air to harm you.

2. You feel like shit. High fever, feel freezing, etc. Can take 12-24 hours to get better.

3. Do not share needles. Do not reuse needles. Throw them away after one use. Your veins and health will thank you.

4. More water can be better, yes.... too much water can disturb the electrolyte balance of your blood, which feels extremely nasty. It takes quite a bit to do so tho, so don't worry about it.

5. If your shot is dirty, you'll get an abscess. Otherwise, you'll have a sterile abscess. It can take weeks to go away. Apply heating pads liberally, several times a day till it's gone, and go to the doctor to have it lanced, cultured, and possibly packed with gauze so it can drain...

6. DON'T REUSE NEEDLES, THEY COST LIKE 14 CENTS A PIECE!.

7. Clean with alcohol prior to the shot, but make sure it dries, because it hurts like a bitch if you don't!

8. Not really. Don't reuse cottons either tho, you increase the chance of infection or drawing up particulate matter.

9. You could do three shots, but why would you? If you are doing so, prepare the heroin solution with sterile saline.

10. You could do a second shot but there isn't enough drugs in the tip of the syringe to make any difference.

11. Stop reusing needles.

12. You'll blow out a vein by pushing drugs fast, or with a tourniquet on your arm. Remove belt/strap/whatever prior to pushing the drugs.

13. It depends on your state and local laws.

14. Probably not. Allow the shot to cool before drawing it up, or better yet, micron filter.

15. Of course. So don't apply pressure to the entire rig, just the plunger.

GL! You should look up the IV megathread for more advice on safer needle use.

3. For the love of god, even if you are 1 million percent sure that neither one of you has anything, don't share needles. I'm begging you. Literally.

I see you already got some good answers, but I also wanted to say that you asked good questions and good for you for taking the initiative to find these things out.
