It was in The West Australian yesterday.
The reporter came up with this :
"WA Chemistry Centre chief scientist Colin Priddis tested the kit for The West Australian .
It successfully distinguished ecstasy from most other substances, Mr Priddis said.
For instance it would give a different result if a pill was the toxic chemical PMA, sometimes passed off as ecstasy and blamed for at least three deaths in Perth since October"
This really NEEDS to be verified.
If this goed out and turns out not to be true, there is a problem.
Could someone please make a few phonecalls, trace the guy and ask him ??
aj

Yes, and that 'result' would be nothing.
As far as I understand, the context of the statement is slightly out of whack. He is saying the tester provides colour changes for ecstasy-like substances, and therefore would be able to distinguish between ecsatsy and other substances (such as PMA - no reaction, or 2CB - green), not that he actually tested PMA.
That's our info here in Australia anyway..
