EDIT: wait, I was right - the 2nd compound is actually the legendary (to me at least) Lefetamine.

Sorry, got too excited ![]()
Although... the second structure does seem to conform to basic opioid structure (at least as per F&B's proposal if I remember it properly).Adrenochrome

This is lefetamine. I want to try it sooo badly. An opiate & a stimulant in one, wow! Trade name: Santenol. It was widely abused in Japan during the 1950s and I can see why. The only superior drug to this is phenmetrazine which certain BLers have reported on as being the best stimulant of all time.

(or any acetylation, alkylation, phenylation, et al)
the very few who tried analogues such as these i believe have reported a similar effect but i am not sure if anyone has made the SAR connectionRiemann Zeta

Now phenmetrazine, is quite well known as a drug of abuse, but when people think of phendimetrazine, they tend to think of 2-phenyl-3,4-dimethylmorpholine (one of the methyl groups being attached to the nitrogen atom); this isn't too hot as a stimulant. If the second methyl group is moved to the 6 position (cmpnd 2) though, you end up with a compound that has the same potency as phenmetrazine, but isn't yet controlled.
I am surprised compound 2 alluded to would be equivalent to phenmetrazine as it would not follow my SAR relationship intuition. Is this conjecture or someone actually tried this compound?? Or maybe this was found in a study...hard to say from the context of the post so maybe F&B, but seems wrong to me, but if anyone knows better or where this is sourced from....???
also as phendimetrazine is shown in a solid research study to solely be a pro-drug for phenmetrazine (no innate activity) i would think it would be very similar though this assessment seems to indicate otherwise

interesting
so you are referring to 3,6-dimethyl-2-phenylmorpholine, correct?
perhaps the added 6-methyl really does not do anyting to hinder or aid any binding pathways as you allude to all things being equal more or less
not sure if that would be controlled under the US analogue laws...probably so, though ironically the 3,4,6-trimethyl would technically not be in that it is really more of a analogue off the sched III phendimetrazine where no analogue law applieshussness
