Fact of the matter is, if you remove the details in question the story boils down to a kid taking 22 mg xanax and 80 mg oxymorphone and and overdoing, then waking up in the hospital. That's believable enough.

i went to high school 20 years ago and even then you'd have had to give the school nurse any legit scripted drugs and go to her to if you needed any dispensed - and the administration would have known about your script beforehand.
