Hey all! I just wrote this article, a distillation of stuff I learned through years of experience, dealing with other users, some addicts, and by lurking here (never felt the need to join before.)

I'd love to hear any comments on the points made, or any thoughts at all, really. I also hope these kinds of ideas may be helpful to people just getting into recreational drug use.

Gave bluelight a shout out as well! :)

Ps - hope this is the appropriate forum.. was thinking if posting in the media section, but I dunno if my blog counts as 'media'...

Great article, sums up what people try and teach here really. The most important one by far is learn the facts or educate yourself on what you are doing. 5 years of anxiety hell after abusing MDMA as taught me that lesson and it applies to anything in life as well, I'm amazed at what drug use has taught me about life in general, if you make sure you learn from every experience. I wouldn't take any of the shit I had back if i could. So never let anybody tell you your drug use has not contributed beneficially to your life in some way.

Drug users are probably the strongest people out there in terms of personality, life experience, hardships and all that good shit that can help you later in life if you take away the right lessons. Unfortunately many people chose to have only regret and guilt over past issues and fail to welcome it as a learning experience for life in general. As an example, anxiety and paranoia from drug abuse taught me to deal with fear and stress and i even built my own business fueled by political paranoia alone.

The biggest issue with rec drug is the lack of places to find the real facts and real experience, places like this form. Something I needed before doing MDMA as a young adult but didnt know about. I tested this idea on meth, educating myself on everything beforehand to see if I could use only once and it has worked. And its the small things you learn that can save you.

Like with meth for me and prob many others is that the addiction can be so powerful once you realize how functional it is in daily life and how it improves your performance. So I made sure never to even once try it for anything other then rec activities and that simple idea alone is gold to know before embarking on a meth journey and has made it a breeze to manage usage by never getting into a temptation causing situation in the first place. When used for rec alone, meth stats to suck, long binges, bad comedowns, effects other responsibilities. Its negativity is clear. When used daily however a very different viewpoint could be created.

Any risk can become a calculated and acceptable risk once enough data has been gathered and plans made.

So thank fuk for places like BL

Thanks Blight12! I'm really glad you enjoyed the article. What you wrote there gave me more ideas for tips I could have included in the piece as well.. never gonna be an exhaustive list though, of course.

@Dunno - I think you misunderstood. I'm not from the media. I work at a hotel doing maintenance, I sometimes use rec drugs, and I blog.. That's about it. I'm curious though what you meant by 'no surprise'?

<3!!!

Yeah i thought it was pretty good, not your usual media propaganda/misinformation drivel.
