Pretty much as the title says, I have been clean off IVing h for 8 days now after about a 14 month go. I quit on my own cold turkey (well with a little help from sweet ass people on here and going to NA meetings)
Well since like the 6th day I have noticed that I get these extremely painful and sharp pains in my heart randomly about one or twice a day and whenever I am laying down trying to rest or sleep I will sometimes get that fluttering heart beat feeling in my heart almost like an irregular heartbeat or a murmur, this feeling usually happens like 5-10 times in just the night. And whenever I have this irregular beat feeling, it's like I just automatically react to it and have to take this deep breath, almost feels like I get the wind knocked out of me. I feel like I mainly feel these pains more on the left side of my heart. I'm worried I might have like an actual serious problem with my heart! So I don't know just curious to see if anyone else has had these pains as a result of coming off h? Or if this is a more serious problem?
Thanks for any help and answers I can get!

I love that you identify ans an EX-Junkie!

If I understand correctly, tachycardia or increased heart rate is a a consequence of withdrawal, not only from suddenly shutting down the opiate supply but also anxiety. Do you know how high your heart rate is going? You may want to check in with your family Dr. if you can talk to him/her about kicking.

Well it's not just a fast heart rate. It's more like fluttering and skipping beats and sharp pains. How fast my heart is beating isn't concerning. I have always had a faster heart beat because of anxiety. But yeah I guess I am just going to have to make a trip to the doctors... Sigh... It makes me super nervous. My mom just passed away almost 3 months ago from heart problems she was only 56. Her mom also passed away in her early 60's from heart problems.

yah I get this sht too. I wouldn't worry about it. You've put your body through a lot. Are you eating enough during withdrawal? Make sure u keep up with your electrolytes and water. I'm in withdrawal too. Day 3. Hang in there hun in a month youll feel a lot better. Especially if your serious about quitting. I dont usually get too much paws because I don't miss the lifestyle. I hate opiates I just cant seem to shake that moment of weakness and end up back here again ><

Yeah I am going to for sure. I'll just have to wait for Monday to call my doctor...

Do report what you find out regarding the heart, Ive had pretty much the same simptoms for a while. Its more unsettling at night, cause sometimes it starts beating irregularly or fluttering as you call it, while im lying down half asleep and I get seriously frightened im going to have a heart attack or itlll stop beating. But then I position myself upright , take a deep breath and its fine again. Strange.

could be a fluid volume issue , i had something similar happen and you're probably still dehydrated from all the sweating during the detox.drink a shit load of water . I'm talking to the point you have to pee clear every 30 minutes. That stopped my palps/arrythmia after detoxing. if that doesn't help after 24-36 hours i'd prob get it checked out
