it does but by that point the moldeule is only marginally active as it is no longer intact as noted above due to hydrolysis of the carboxymethyl group

it's not only possible, the acetoxy certainly will get hydrolised,
but when that happens (hydrolisation), then the other ester in the molecule will get hydrolised, too.
and as that second ester is vital for activity, the molecule will become inactive before it could turn into mitragynol.
everything clear now?

Heroin also has its acetoxy groups converted to hydroxy groups in metabolization, so isn't it possible it could happen to 7-acetoxymitragynine?
It will, but both esters are going to be hydrolyzed, and without the other, having the 7-ho is rather useless.
I look at mitragyrine as a "modified ,arylethyl tied back, fentanyl like stucture" Off topic , they are trying to "Bioengineer" the papaver somniferum poppy so that it produces only or mostly thebaine, which is the precursor for "semisynthetic" opiods like oxy and hydro codone, for the vast opiod "pain relief market". Don't want to get off topic though, it's not nice to "hog in on" somebody else's thread.:D

what are you talking about? Mitragynine remotely like fentanyl? You're off your rocker!

no offense ham, but i see what he means
flip either one as you have them and the nitrogens are in the same spot relative to the "aniline" ring, fentanyl is just more rigid in the right spots where the mit is more rigid overall but not in the right places, dig?

Yeah, actually I see it when you say it like that.
I mentioned this before in an older 7-AcO- thread;
the 13x potency of morphine figure came from a study looking at the effects of the two drugs on guinea-pig ileum [intestine]. When the actual analgesic effects of the two drugs were compared, 7-hydroxymitragynine was found to be only 2x as potent as morphine, when both drugs were given subcutaneously, and 6x potent orally.
ref: Matsumoto et al., 2004. Life Sci. 74:2143-55.
I administered 15mg subcutaneously.. effects were fairly mild

With simply the research papers it was hard to say as different tests yielded far different relative potencies as noted above
But obviously if you bioassayed it you woul have the most practical info
That is reasonably weak, unless you are an opiate addict
So about as potent at 15mg (which should be about the same orally and did you try orally?) as what other common oral...ie., 5mg oxycodone

raybeez, for clarification, you 15mg bioassay involved 7-AcO- mitragynine, right?

^ i believe he refers to 7OHMIT as the compound bioassayed

So how do you guys suggest ingesting the 7-Hydroxy-Mitragynine? cuz sublingual is too hard cuz the alcohol in the tincture burns way to bad, so is it straight to just drink it? Will it still work when u just drink it? ???
I tried sublingual but the ethanol burned way too much for me to keep it under my tongue.

has anyone determined the oral bioavailability of 7OHM as i have heard near 100% or simply very high as well as indications to suspect this is not quite so
Ham, you are saying oral is not really viable?!!! ...never heard that....
as if it is high enough sub-L will not do much better to bother and likely if diluted with water will only be mostly swallowed anyway
anyway, anyone have a real clue or am I going to have to run a study
there have certainly been a large amount of published studies on the substance

From what I read, albeit only a few reports, 5-10mg for a non-opiate user was solid oral dose...how much did you swallow?...effect?

Is there any information about modifications to the methyl ester, such as increasing the length of the chain or swapping that ester for something else? Is it possible that the methyl ester contributes nothing to the effects besides increasing the rate of elimination?

I found both the 7-ho and 7-aco version a waste of time. I've also combined them. I used oral as roa. I prefer regular good quality kratom powder. I might try mitragynine to compare some day. I think the doses I took were quite low though.

what doses?
