Hello --
I took adderall 20 mg for 7 months.. Been off for a wk. sometimes I get very red and my adrenalin kicks in just in normal conversations. For instance having a convo w someone I can feel myself getting red and then go look and I'm red and blotchy is this from adderall wd? How long does that last?

that's not a normal amphetamine withdrawal symptom, the stimulant WD is general characterized by psychological effects, and rarely has a physical component to it (like with opiates/benzos), although there are some small physical WD effects, such as weakness in the muscles, high blood pressure, mild headache, and general fatigue.

you should see a doctor for the blotchy red skin, as for the adrenaline being effected during normal conversation, that is an amphetamine WD effect, and that will last no longer than a few days (5 at the VERY most).

I am prescribed two 30mg tablets per day, but often come close to running out. I have tried to quit them before and while I was very tired and had no energy, the mental withdrawal symptoms were terrible. Getting that feeling was all I could think about. I guess I need drug counseling, but the thing is it, is prescribed by a psychiatrist who knows I need it. I started out on ritalin, then he put me on dexedrine, now adderall. I have been on stimulants for 9 years and my tolerance is very high. However, he says I am at the highest dose he will give me. So can anybody offer me any words of wisdom?

^there's nothing I'd recommend that you do but stay on that dose or quit. The withdrawals go away pretty fast IME, although my amphetamine habit was a 4-year ordeal rather than a 9-year one, although I abused the fuck out of my amphetamines, especially towards the end, when I switched to crystal meth (which I urge you to avoid doing).
