hi,
what could be the impurities in the mainly available 6-apb ? as it is not white, but tan brwon, their must be some impurities in.
so what could that be ? any toxic chemical maybe ?

Presumably 1-(benzofuran-6-yl)-2-propanone and/or 1-(benzofuran-6-yl)-1-propene. Perhaps the corresponding beta-nitropropene as well.

The tan or brown colour is more than likely due to the ubiquitous "amorphous brown tar" rather than one specific impurity.

It's hard to say without running even a TLC on it

I would just try to recrystallize it then wash it
