5-Methoxy-Tryptamine, according to wikipedia:

5-Methoxytryptamine (5-MT), also known as mexamine, is a tryptamine drug and research chemical closely related to the neurotransmitters serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) and melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine). 5-MT acts as a full agonist at the 5-HT1, 5-HT2, 5-HT4, 5-HT6, and 5-HT7 receptors.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] It has no affinity for the 5-HT3 receptor and it should also be noted that its affinity for the 5-HT1E receptor is very weak in comparison to the other 5-HT1 receptors.[4][8] Its affinity for the 5-HT5A receptor is unknown. 5-MT has been shown to occur naturally in the body in low levels.[9] It is synthesized from melatonin in the pineal gland.[9]

To put it into perspective, almost all tryptamines active 5HT2 subtype A.

I would suspect that 5meotryptamine would agonize the A subtype, seeing as that it is a full agonistat the 5-HT2 receptor.

While googling, I read that 2 people didn't find it active, but I tend to think it will be.

Any thoughts? Maybe it isn't active orally but it is when smoked, like DMT.

of course melatonin is active at 5HT2a

if it was <<psycho>>active then you could trip balls just by consuming MAOI alkaloids like harmala.

honestly i think there's more promise in trying to take excessive tryptophan combined with methlylating agents like SAM-e, to make extra DMT in-vivo.

Bad argument since harmala actually does produce effects on its own and DMT is also found naturally in the human body which goes to show that it's not necessary to flip out immediately when endogenous monoamines are not any more so inhibited..
