5-MeO-DMT and DMT are two different molecules. Check out the search engine (or google) to see what they are about. Ayahuasca is a brew made from B. Caapi. This contains beta-carboline alkaloids such as harmine and THH. They are also MAO-inhibitors and allow DMT and 5-MeO-DMT to work orally. Thus plants containing 5-MeO-DMT and DMT are often added to ayahuasca for a visionary effect. Does that clear it up?
