5-MEO-DiPT aka. "Foxy methoxy"'s interaction with Abilify (aripiprazole), 5-HT2a...
I read on wikipedia "The mechanism that produces the hallucinogenic and entheogenic effects of 5-MeO-DiPT is thought to result primarily from 5-HT2A receptor agonism, although additional mechanisms of action such as MAOI may be involved also."
I also read on rxlist.com that Abilify (aripiprazole) has "antagonist activity at 5-HT2A receptors."
My girl and i are both on abilify 10mg/day, i assume it's likely the effects of the "foxy" may be dampened by the abilify, maybe requiring a slightly higher dose than erowid's "strong/heavy dose"
(quick cheking stuff on google)*
FUckin' hell, just read this too on wiki "Studies on rodents have found that the effectiveness with which a selective 5-HT2A receptor antagonist blocks the behavioral actions of this compound strongly suggest that the 5-HT2A receptor is an important site of action for DPT, but the modulatory actions of a 5-HT1A receptor antagonist also imply a 5-HT1A-mediated component to the actions of DPT"
Does this mean it's pointless to take DPT or 5-MEO-DiPT whilst on Abilify? All i'll likely get is very weak effects from the DPT and little to no effects from the "Foxy", and Abilify has a half life of over 90 hours, i shouldn't really go several days without taking the Abilify.
BLAST i'm picking up a baggy of each in a couple of hours, i was so excited about trying them that i didn't do my research thoroughly first... i tried DPT a long time ago and attributed it doing pretty much nothing to "a bad batch", but was likely on an 5-HT2a antagonist too at the time...
