On Thursday I started taking 400mg 5-htp (2 capsules) and 400mg l-Theanine with 6mg Melatonin (2 combination capsules) at night before bed. I have noticed a slightly improved mood I think but it's still too early to tell.I felt tired during the day yesterday and today with the added side effect of what I can almost describe as apathy. I decided to get L-Tyrosine as I've read it is essential when taking 5-htp. I only took 500mg and it made a big difference.
So now that I have everything, I'm planning on continuing 400mg 5-htp/400mg l-theanine with 6mg melatonin at night before bed. For morning and afternoon I'm planning on taking 1 500mg l-tyrosine twice (1,000 mg total).
Is this a good regimen? Is there anything else I should add or do and has anyone had success doing this or something similar? Sorry for the jumbled post with the mg and what not, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly.
