So I have decided to try and stay away from going back to the use of SSRI's and take a more natural (I think) approach to treating anxiety. I dont have any depression at all, in fact I am quite the happy person. But I suffer from anxiety in certain situations, which in turn, drives me mad.
I was wondering if anyone has tried to take St johns wort and 5htp to help with anxiety, and what the results are.
I take in the morning a swisse mens multi vitamin (with minerals), 2 strong fish oil capsules, ginko balboa and a serc tablet (for tinnitus). In the night I have a night time multi vitamin, 2 strong fish oil capsules, tebonin (concentrated ginko for tinnitus) and another serc tablet which I also take 1 in the afternoon. Will any of these have interfere with the 5htp or st johns wort?
I also exercise every day and go running every second day. To be honest I live the healthiest lift style possible with the occasional dabble in recreational drugs. Plus I dont drink.
Much help would be appreciated from people in similar situations or people that have tried this approach. If this does not work then I guess I have no other choice other then to go back on my SSRI (cymbalta) which I know worked. The only thing that is keeping me away from taking this stuff is that it made me numb and not really give a shit about much. Also I get sick when I take it, so I would have to start on a very slow dose and slowly increase
