480 mgs dxm from mucinex DM, no high???

Okay so I know mucinex dm wasn't the best choice but for some reason I don't react badly to the gauifenesin. Well anyways I consumed 8 60mg DXM, 1200 mgs guaifenesin mucinex DM pills(cut each pill into three parts as they were extended release pills) and experienced nothing but a 1st plateau after 4 hours. I consumed on a somewhat full stomach but I still think 480 mgs should AT LEAST bring me to a 2nd plateau. I'm confused. I just want to know if anyone has had success with mucinex dm. Do you think ill even get any higher, maybe its just because they're extended release and I ate quite a large meal about an hour and half before eating em.

Its odd that you wouldn't feel anything from 480mgs. All i can think is that the large amount of gauifenesin may have had an effect on it..

Well now its been 4 and a half hours and now starting to feel it I'm at a high 2nd plateau but it took forever to hit me

^ That sounds about right to me. I'm not sure how you go about breaking the time release on these correctly, but it's possible breaking them into 3 parts isn't enough. Eating before doesn't help either with oral dosing - it weakens the hit but prolongs absorption meaning a longer duration slightly.
