4-methyl-pentedrone (4-MPD) - 1g/24 hours - almost the same as pentedrone

Seriously, this stuff reacted in lab tests the same way pentedrone did, in terms of ROA. Vaporizing is a little harsh on the lungs. Seems to require at least 25% more per mg to have the same effect as its parent chemical. Did not notice any appreciable type of serotonin activity in lab tests, despite what some people claimed due to the "4-methyl" attachment (not sure why that would guarantee interaction with serotonin, but whatever). Definitely "moreish", subjects got mildly paranoid (but nowhere near the craziness that the "PV"-style drugs cause, ie MDPV, a-PVP) and somewhat horny; they had mild depression for a few hours after it was over. Eh...I really don't see how this is much different from pentedrone (excluding the slightly upped dose).

Why are we playing with ring substitutions on all these vanilla reuptake inhibitor long alpha-chain cathinones? They don't seem to affect much outside of potency, and the vast majority of these compounds just really suck.

Possibly legality reasons if it's sold in a country without quite so strict analogue laws maybe, where Pentedrone is already illegal?

Pentedrone is quite a nice one for me personally (though also no award winner of any kinds) and I'm not surprised 4-methyl-pentedrone is pretty much the same. Was vaporising worthwhile in the end? I keep thinking I tried vaporising Pentedrone and it went very unsuccessfully, whereas the pyrovalerone based substances vape great.

4-MPD was very heavy on HR and BP (normally 60-65, was closer to 100-110 at times), BP normally 110/70, was rocking about 140/100. After two doses insufflated about the same size as what I'd do with pentedrone...~15-20mg.

It definitely increased alertness (I liked ptd) and was mildly euphoric, but it honestly reminded me more of what happens to amphetamines when you lengthen the alpha chain. There's a paper...Damn, I can't find it, sorry, but there's a paper where researchers experimented with rats and lengthening alpha chains on amphetamines (much like has been done with the cathinones, a-la buphedrone and pentedrone). They found that as amphetamine became alpha-ethylphenethylamine (buphedrone) and then alpha-propylphenethylamine (pentedrone), that the amphetamine homologues lost significant potency and dopaminergic activity. I wish I could quote you the paper, but the amphetamine homologue of pentedrone was barely active (If I recall, approximately 1/10th) -- almost no dopaminergic activity and almost exclusively adrenergic activity.


Adding the 4-methyl group to the cathinone pentedrone, to me, feels like what I read in this paper. That beta keto group really does play funny with some of our anticipated reactions to how a molecule will react. I always wanted to see what 4-MPD could do, would love to see SAR analysis if I still had access to software ):

So what's the dosage on this? I could never find a straight answer on pentedrone either, only time I tried it I was vaping eyeballed amounts like a fool and it sucked anyway. I just got some 4-MPD out of boredom and would like to be more responsible
