It's clear I am no chemist but what difference would changing something from "4 MeO" to "4-HO"

I read that it has something to do with morphine?.......

It's the pcp analogue I was looking at if that makes a difference, as imo the 4 MeO PCP is my #1 dissociative I have ever come across. It dont have for me that whacked on the head with a Iron bar feeling of K, I dont get weird black out's like I did on MXE, DXM was horrible, but thats just my opinion.

4-substitution on tryptamines is going to be wildly different than 4-subst on arylcyclohexylamines.

The general rule of thumb is that 4-hydroxy-tryptamines are worthwhile, 4-esterified tryptamines like AcO, psilocybin etc work just as well due to metabolism to the parent phenol.

4-MeO-tryptamines cannot be degraded easily to the 4-HO tryptamines and hence lack activity. (more evidence for 4-AcO-DMT not being an active drug but rather a psilocin prodrug). Any 4-meo-T's that are active will be flukes, 4-MeO substitution just does not bode well for potency. The only "well studied" one os 4-meo-mipt, which seems to me like a shittier version of 4-ho/5-meo--mipt.
