Hi all,

I have 4-FA, but I'm currently taking St. John's Wort. I am aware that taking SRAs on SSRIs will produce diminished effects, and that taking SRAs on MAOIs might produce serotonin syndrome, and since St. John's Wort is supposedly both of those, I was wondering how long I should wait after I stop the St. John's Wort before I take 4-FA.
(Strangely, I remember reading on a rhodium synthesis page for 4-FA where the chemist described the effects he received that he said he received MDMA-like effects while taking Zoloft/Prozac or something. Thoughts?)

Also, on a side note, I was wondering if para-chloroamphetamine is likely to be a byproduct of the synthesis of 4-FA should, say, hydrochloric acid be involved. That would be worrisome. I have a rudimentary knowledge of chemistry and from what I know it seems unlikely, but I'm not willing to stake my brain on that xD (Sorry if this comes too close to synthesis discussion, from my reading of the rules it seemed like this would be okay.)

Is it necessary to state the quantity you are receiving and the fact it's still en route? Neither is relevant to your question and it seems to only add red flags of suspicion for the postal office/authorities. As for your p-chloroamphetamine question, it's bordering "synthesis discussion" which isn't allowed, but I'd agree that it seems quite unlikely.

A week or such. Do note that 4-fa has more effects than just serotonin release; it's an amphetamine too.

.

Very doubtful, HCl won't add to rings like bromine or iodine will, and furthermore fluorine is not added to the ring in the same manner that e.g. bromine is.

You're right. Details removed.

Danke schoen. I've combined amphetamine with St. John's Wort before to no ill effect so I'm not too worried about that. (Never heard of dopamine syndrome :P)

"dopamine syndrome" = psychosis.

Haha yes there's that.

Although from my limited understanding of neurochemistry, coadministration of St. John's Wort and amphetamine should increase DA less than amphetamine alone (ignoring effects of SJW on metabolism), since SJW indirectly inhibits dopamine reuptake, and amphetamine relies on DAT functioning to exert its effects.

Well, my 4-FA has arrived, and I've weaned myself off St. John's Wort for almost a week, completely stopping it a little more than three days ago. Seeing that 4-FA seems to be a rather weak serotonin releaser, and SJW seems to be a very weak (reversible? I've read conflicting information) MAOI with a rather short 9 hour half-life, is there any concern that should stop me from taking this besides possibly diminished effects?
