after all the things i read about suboxone being a nightmare to come off i was kind of scared. but this detox has been the easiest i've had so far. i'm not sure why. hopefully someone reads this that is about to make the jump and sees it's not all doom and gloom

yeah i sure read lots about it. it's been 4 days and i've managed to sleep a couple hours every night. the doctor prescribed me clonidine and my wife has a bottle of clonazepam that she gives me for bed and rough mornings. today on day 4 i feel a heck of a lot better than i have in the past couple days. the only thing i'm really fighting with is fatigue and that hie away in my dark bedroom all day feeling.

I think the horror stories of people coming off Subutex come off too high or maybe just have unfortunate genetics. Every time I've come off subutex after tapering appropriately low (less than 1mg) it's still been challenging, but not even 1% of a full on heroin withdrawal.

you bet that's what i'm thinking too. seems people get in too much of a rush or corcumstances force them to taper far too fast and not low enough. ultimately become their demise. also we have to take into fact the different personality types, are they currently using other drugs that make the bad feelings worse. too many variables

I thought subtex was easier to come off why else would it be addiction treatment good job anyway op keep up the good work I'm always impressed to here people wd I'm a pussy when it comes to that

i would say meth was a lot easier purely because of the fact that all you do is sleep, and eat literally everything in site for a couple weeks. then the emotions hit and the craving but it all depends on how bad you want sobriety right!

5 days clean and off the suboxone. today is a muuuuch better day than yesterday. sun is shining. all kinds of back and pain but doing good.

Is sub withdrawal worser than meth?

Yeah. You'd have most of the same issues you get with meth withdrawal in terms of low energy, depression etc with the substitute of insomnia instead of hypersomnia (and during WD god knows I'd rather be sleeping all the time than not being able to sleep) and plus if you rush it or come off a high dose you'll get sickness on top of it.

You should know you've inspired me to come off subutex during this lockdown. It seems like the best time and your success has motivated me to do it. I'm getting some gabapentin on Friday and am planning to go from 2mg which I'm currently on down to 1mg for a couple days, then .5mg for a couple days, then jump off completely. I'm actually excited about it - I've been on and off heroin for years but haven't been entirely opioid free including subutex for at least a couple of years. How have your symptoms been today/yesteday? How's the emotional/mental side of it?

well that makes me insanely happy that i could inspire your choice to detox! the detox is different for everyone but days 1-3 were bed ridden for me. lots of clonidine, and anything tylenol/methocarbamol. kind of your typical withdrawal stuff but not nearly as bad as dope. day 4-5 were very very lethargic kind of depressed didn't wanna see light. aches and pains but certainly not like kicking dope pains. i just hung around on bluelight to keep my mind occupied. the rls is kind of bad at night. looooots of showers. insomnia is very difficult and i think that makes the days worse so if you can find any way of getting a few hours of sleep here and there do it. sleep is a game changer. today i feel absolutely brand new. my back hurts and my legs hurt but not too bad. stomach is getting a bit better. forcing myself to eat also helps. it's only up from here. i'll be on here if you need anyone to talk to that knows what your going through. i'll be of any help i can to you on this journey to health! i hope i covered that for you if there's anything else, just ask!

Could any of you help me with this question?

My cousin per say is taking 80 to 120 mg of OP's a day. He has been doing so for about 6 weeks. Before that they had not taken any pain medicine whatsoever.

He wants to know how to responsibly get off of the medicine. I am not experienced to advise him how to do so. He is worried that if he does it cold turkey he will get sick.

Is this true ? Can he do it cold turkey or should he try to taper off the medicine ? Also, he does not get the medicine from his doctor but from the streets so he cannot call his doctor

and get a lighter prescription.

I am hoping some more experienced people from this forum can answer this question. I am so glad this forum his here.

i would think after only 6 weeks your pal might be able to get away with a quick detox. any access to some benzos for the withdrawals? i know years back i detoxed from fent in the same house as my family and no one ever knew. either your friend could detox with some benzos or slowly taper down. loperamide(imodium) is a good send i hear. also something called kratom might help him.

might be better of cold turkey with some comfort meds than tapering. has your friend been off the meds for 24 hours before?

what is the imodeium for cody ? and when you say benzos you mean like xanax ? also, the 6 weeks has been daily use of 100mg or so of OP's

imodium is a diarrhea medicine but to the best of my knowledge it works on the opiate receptors in the gut and can lessen or stave of the withdrawals. and by comfort meds yes i mean xanax, clonidine. stuff to kinda ease the pains. sleep and the rls will be an issue that xanax would help with. i like clonazepam because it's longer acting i get more relief out of them. clonidine any doc will prescribe for withdrawal. and actually helps more than you would think. also something called gabapentin that works well for rls and some withdrawal symptoms. i'd say those are the most common "comfort meds"

you bet. any time you need advice holler at me. i'm not doctor and i don't know it all but i can sure try to help.
I just emailed my cousin's doctor for my cousin. I think he was worried that if he came clean to his doctor about his use of oxy
that he may get in some sort of trouble. He emailed his doctor the other day but was not upfront and honest and tried to get a lighter
prescription for pain medicine from the doctor. the doctor wanted to give him some anti inflammatory prescription drug because of this so
I told my cousin it would be best to go ahead and tell the doc he had been struggling with oxy meds and what he really wanted was a prescription of some sort to help him get the fuck off the meds. pain meds is not what he wants he wants meds to help him get the hell off the pain meds

you follow me cody ? what do you think ? do you think his doctor will help or will he be forced to figure this shit out on his own and try to set up some sort of tapering off program himself which will very likely result in failure.

Thanks Cody
